Hello,

Writing to ask that these beautiful properties be kept as it is. The loss of such lovely buildings would be a shame. We need to preserve and prioritise our heritage buildings.

Whilst museums and cultural institutions are important aspects to communities, and would be a great addition to the area, they should NOT come at the cost of losing some of the vital heritage locations around the city. They must be protected.

I cannot understand how a building considered worthy of heritage status, that links the city to its historical past could so easily be approved for destruction because a new purpose is viewed as more important.

I appreciate your time reading this and fervently hope it is taken into consideration.

Thank you.

Please don’t demolish Willow Grove. Once it is gone it is lost forever. It is aesthetically much more beautiful than the proposed building. Surely an architect can be creative enough to incorporate the existing building as a part of the museum, or better still ditch the museum altogether, as it is nothing more than a collection of cafes. Shame on your government for allowing this. You need to listen to the people of Sydney who value our historic buildings, there is barely anything historic left in Parramatta, I’m feeling more and more angry as I type this! It was bad enough losing the 200 year old pub! These old buildings give Sydney it’s particular character, without them we have no soul!

I wish to add my support to the enormous community objection to the proposed destruction of Willow Grove and St. George's Terrace in Parramatta.

I find it appalling and sadly ironic that the State Government sees installing a museum in place of actual heritage as preferential in one of the oldest European settlements in Australia.

I ask that you and the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment please reconsider the museum's new location.

I strongly object to the demolishing of both historic buildings known as Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace, in Parramatta.

These buildings are irreplaceable and should be kept intact and well looked after within Parramatta city.

Please note:

I strongly support, and would argue for, the Powerhouse Museum being kept and operational in Ultimo, Sydney.

I am in favour of the riverside area which had been earmarked for the much reduced version of a Parramatta Powerhouse Museum to be opened up to public space.

I would be in favour of a separate Museum or similar attraction to be built at Parramatta, but at a different location and without the demolishing of historic buildings.

I am not adverse to development however in the Parramatta area this should be done without mass destruction of our heritage buildings and sites and all development should be in keeping with the historical nature of the city.

I feel very strongly about these points and would like my voice heard and taken seriously.

I would like to voice my opinion of disgust and objection to the proposed destruction of heritage listed Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace at Parramatta. Once they're gone, they are gone forever. I know where my vote at the next election is going.

I am emailing you to object to the proposed demolition of Willow Grove and St George's Terrace in Parramatta.

As someone who works both in the urban planning realm and who grew up in the Parramatta district I strongly object to the oversight of quality planning to work and design around existing elements to achieve a better outcome for Parramatta , NSW and humanity alike.

The bulldozing of our countries past has long been the status quo within many levels of government and society, and extend to you, the challenge to not fall in to such paradigms

Whilst this one email may not be adequate to pursuade a capital fuelled machine from diverting it's tracks, I would expect that the community of Parramatta and NSW would like to see you step in and make a difference

I object to the planned destruction of this beautiful historic home in parramatta. Willow Grove is an important part of our history. A place that can be used in a variety of ways in the future whilst paying homage to our past. It should not be demolished.
Please listen to the people. Please don’t destroy it.

I wish to voice my objection to the destruction of Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace in Parramatta.
There has been enough destruction of our history, in the name of progress, and this wilful ignorance and search for profit above history must cease. Once destroyed, we can never regain our historical buildings. They need to be preserved for future generations.

Wish to lodge my objection to the proposed demolition of the history house Willowtree and St George's Terrace in Parramatta to make way for the proposed museum/convention centre biscuit tin complex. While having no objection to a museum presence in Parramatta cannot understand why flood prone site is being even considered. Please do no proceed with this project and certainly do not demolish history merely to pander to the current Government's whims.

Please do not demolish Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace. These buildings form part of Parramatta's local history and can never be replaced.

A more suitable site, which has already been proposed by Parramatta Council, is the Cumberland Hospital Precinct in North Parramatta. Surely it is better to work with the Council
than go ahead with a proposal which ignores the advice of the National Trust and the Heritage Council?
