Let the approval for the pipeline lapse. The pipeline traverses ten local
government areas, crossing several rivers and beautiful farmland and
bushland between the Queensland border and Newcastle.
It passes by the Pilliga, and the company behind the pipeline is eager
to transport CSG drilled from the Pilliga to Queensland or Newcastle.
It passes through rich cropping lands south of Moree and on the
Liverpool Plains
It crosses the Namoi River five times, and the Hunter River on the
outskirts of Aberdeen, Morpeth and Tomago, cutting the wetlands of Ash
Island to the North Arm of the Hunter River on Kooragang Island.
The company claims there are no changes to the environmental or
amenity impacts, but that ignores changes that happen over time. New
ecological communities have been listed as endangered, National Parks
have been extended, new towns have emerged and existing towns have
grown, new farming enterprises have been embarked upon, and the
justification for the project has dramatically changed.
The landscape through which this pipeline proposes to run has changed
over the last decade and with it, so has the impact this pipeline will
inflict on people, the environment and local economies. It is not
acceptable for the Department of Planning to extend the deadline for
this consent by another five years.

Please do not extend the approval beyond the February 2019 deadline. I
request this because there have been new environmental factors which
have become known, and other changes, and a completely new application
should be demanded with new environmental impact studies and
statements submitted.
The route of this pipeline would have devasting effects on some of the
sensitive areas it would traverse. The building of the pipeline has a
much wider corridor and impact than just the little pipeline space!
Thank you for considering this submission,. Kate Belfield

We strongly urge the Department NOT to extend or modify the CSG pipeline
proposal that is due to expire soon. This pipeline is proposed to go
through productive farmland south of Moree and the Liverpool Plains,
and the region has changed significantly in the last 10 years when the
original approvals were given.
Larger communities, new farming enterprises and more residents in the
area will all be impacted by this project in a negative way.
The economics of the project have changed, and the environmental
consequences, especially in terms of the Paris Agreement to reduce
fossil fuel emissions, make it an untenable and damaging proposal.
We urge you to wake up to this century, and act into protect
our environmental futures now. Reject this modification, and any
extension of the approvals
proposal that is due to expire soon. This pipeline is proposed to go

I strongly oppose drilling for CSG and therefore object to approval for a
CSG pipeline nearly 900 kilometres long stretching from the Queensland
border down to Newcastle for another five years. CSG has been proven
to cause more earth quakes and poison water.

Liverpool Plains.

Although I am a Victorian, I have for some time been mindful of
developments in Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia that
may endanger future Australian agricultural and tourism industries;
the environment - including our rapidly changing climate; and
especially future water resources.
I was pleased that this application was nearing its expiration, as the
pipeline and its rationale falls into all of those categories. More
particularly because this extensive area has in the meantime been
altered in many ways, I submit that this application should not be
extended.
Thank you sincerely,
Pat Grainger
