I think North Byron Parklands is a wonderful Festival Site. I have been to both Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival at this venue. I fully support this submission to make the site a permanent Festival venue in the Byron Shire. Thankyou

I believe that supporting the arts is as important as supporting the environment . Let's do both sustainably

As a music and pop culture fan, I unreservedly support this application.

The festival site is beautifully maintained and an asset to our community.

I support the submission because of the site's significant economic and cultural importance to our regional area.

The North Byron Parklands is an area of significant cultural import. The Splendour in the Grass festival which is held there is a very important music festival and regarded as such all around the planet. More importantly though it's the single most important event in Australian music from a cultural, industrial and audience point of view.

Because the event is held outside the state capitals it brings together the national industry, Because the site was designed by promoters and musicians,. it is the best festival space on the planet.

The Falls Festival is also a significant cultural event albeit smaller than Splendour. Falls is a beautifully run event especially on New Years Eve where it provides a safe alternative to thousands of young people looking for fun at Byron.

Having attended events at the Parklands and seen how professionally they operate, I am strongly in favor of this facility. It is fantastic to have dedicated facilities for these type of cultural events, and the owners have gone to a lot of trouble to develop green and sustainable facilities and have put a great deal of thought and design into the way they function. It is great for the shire to have such dedicated facilities.

I support North Byron Parklands staying as a permanent venue. I would like to work on these events one day. It's important for local jobs and young people. Please support it.

I am dead against the ongoing concerts at this site.
I think when these festivals keep getting approved, against the advice
from Police, Emergency Services, Environmental groups,
something smells real bad. How much money does the Splendour group pay
to the Planning Department? I'd love to see a full investigation into
the Crooked Dealings of the Land Owners, the Dept. of Planning and
anyone else who gains from these concerts. Let's face it, there's huge
amounts of money involved here and the people deciding our fate don't
give a [REDACTED],
because they live a long way away.

I am voicing my concerns over the vastly increased size and usage of the site. Currently with the lower numbers the area is overwhelmed with festival goers. Problems such as:
- rentals transferred to airbnb thereby making it hard for local people to find accommodation at that time,
- caravan parks full preventing other holiday makers coming to the area,
- normal holiday accommodation also full,
- traffic congestion on highway side roads and local towns,
- parking and the sheer number of people in the local town of Brunswick Heads.
- illegal van parking in South Golden Beach, Brunswick Heads and surrounds

Then there is the negative impact on this beautiful natural area - noise pollution and its effects on wildlife, extra traffic and pollution including septic and waste, demands on water.

I am not objecting to the current use of the site, but do object to bigger and more frequent use of this previously tranquil natural site.
