I feel the need for a North Macksville on/off ramp is essential! To be able to enter the shopping precinct and enjoy our river and parks from either end of town is paramount to ensure Macksville can florish once the bypass is complete and opened. This would allow tourists heading north to exit the highway at the south and rejoin to the north and the opposite for those travelling south instead of having to back track which could put most tourists off coming into Macksville for rest stops! Not to mention the fact that the Ambulance station in north Macksville would be able to attend accidents much faster by being able to gain access to the new highway not even 1 kilometer away instead of have to rush through the town to enter the highway at the Bald Hill interchange 2 or 3 kms away!
In most cases along sections of the Pacific highway that have already been upgraded, towns that have been bypassed have an entry/exit at either end of the township. Even those with a much smaller population than Macksville. So why is Macksville any different to those towns?
As I have pointed out , the benefits of a North Macksville interchange would be beneficial financially for the area and if this was not to go ahead the consequences could be detrimental and also catistrophic if emergency services can not access our national number 1 highway easily!
I hope the right decision is made in regards to this as I believe it is a no brainer and should have been on the plans from day 1!

I fully support the planned proposed modification for a Northbound ON RAMP on to the Upgraded Pacific Highway at North Macksville and also the Southbound OFF RAMP from the upgraded Pacific Highway at North Macksville. Also connection of the ramps to an upgraded Old Coast Road including a ROUNDABOUT at the junction of the Southbound OFF RAMP Old Coast Road and Letitia Close also an upgraded intersection at the Old Coast Road & the Pacific Highway (Existing Highway) & emergency vehicle crossover access North & South & associated mitigation measures
