I support Grants Rd Sand's Quarry Extension application (NO 08_0099)
We currently employ a total of 17 staff and are customers of Grants Rd Sand. We purchase products such as washed sand , retaining wall rock, mortar sand, sawn sandstone logs and blocks for the use of domestic, civil and commercial projects. The extension will ensure an ongoing supply of sand and sandstone products to the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area.
The quarry extension will:
* guarantee local jobs not only within the quarry but also to subcontractors and continued services associated with the Quarry
* provide construction material readily available and close to the markets of the Greater Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle metropolitan areas.
* ensure competition in the supply of quarried products.
* secure the supply of much needed construction sand and associated products such as sandstone blocks and logs for the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area
* allow an existing quarry with existing infrastructure to continue providing a much needed resource
*enable sandstone blocks to be exported into the world market and earn valuable export dollars
I urge you to approve the application for Grants Rd Sand to expand their quarry and continue to provide a much needed resource for construction in the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area. This will also provide economic benefits to diverse other businesses within the local area.
I also declare that I have not made any political donations in the past two years nor am I an associate of the applicant.
Regards

My husband and I strongly object to the further expansion of the Manildra
plant for the following reasons:
1. Noise Pollution: The amount of large trucks using Camberwarra and
Meroo road in Bomaderry has increased significanty over the period of
expansions to the Manildra plant. This has a huge impact on the
residential areas of Bomaderry. To our knowledge there has never been
any work carried out by the EPA to determine the noise levels from the
trucks using these roads. There should be a curfew on trucks using
these road to conicide with the current regulations for construction.
The trucks should not be able to use this road between the hours of
8pm and 7am. There is an alternative route, via the princes highway
onto Bolong road at the traffic lights, which can be used at night.
This needs to be investigated and there needs to be consultation with
the residents in the area to determine the impact. There is noise
impact from the plant it's self the noise is reaching excessive levels
at night again impacting residence to the point we can not have
windows open at night due to the constant noise coming from the plant.
There also needs to be curfew hours at night so this does not impact
on the residents
2. Environmental impact on the residential area - We already have
residue floating in the air if they are gonig to be using coal this
needs to have an environmental study completed to determine this will
be safe for the residence. They stopped using this coal because it was
dirty so why is it that the government feels its okay for Bomaderry
residents to be imapcted by the use. Again there have been no studies
completed by the EPA, which we are aware of in consultation with the
residents to determine the impact this will have on our lives.

I am making a submission in rejection of the above application on the
grounds of noise polluition and enviromental pollution. The volume of
trucks using Cambewarra and Meroo road has increased significantly and
the expansion will only increase the volume of traffic even more.
There needs to be extensive studies completed on the noise pollution
levels at night on these roads as the trucks are moving up and down
these roads at all hours of the night and day. The decibel noise
levels are so bad it rattles all the windows in our home. This needs
to be completed in consultation with the residents living in these
street and we need to be provided with the results of this testing.
The roads are continually having to be repaired due to the damage
caused by the amount of trucks using the roads. The noise levels at
the plant have also increased to a very high level to the point were
we are unable to leave our windows open at night to sleep. This also
needs to investigated and studies completed on the noise levels at teh
palnt as well. The pollution levels at the plant have also increased
the smell from the starch plant and the residual polutive dust, which
settles all over everything is unexceptible and needs to be addressed
again in consultation with the residents living in these streets and
the surrounding Bomaderry area. It seems that as long as the
application supposible addresses the requirements this is not in
effect happening in real terms. I feel there is no consideration given
to the effect the noise, smells and air born pollution has on
residents and the enviroment. We also have been made aware that the
output of 2.7 million tonnes of poor quality nut coal will be shipped
to the Bomaderry plant to be used in their burners. As a resident I am
disgusted that there has been no consultaiton on the detrimental
effect this will have on people and the enviroment. I would like all
my points fully addressed.

I am concerned about the proposed possible town house site known as Lot 74 on the modified plans PM05_0129MOD1 believing that this is not compatible for the overall estate and it's high standards. I have seen townhouses in other quality subdivisions in other towns and always found that it reduces the standard and the value of the asset.
The proposed Lot 131, 132 and 133 off Barrington Close. When I purchased my property on the corner of Barrington Close and Torrens Way, I was advised that there were only 2 developments lots in Barrington Close, now there are 3.
Lot 131 should be left as part of the reserve which you indicate on your plan as green space. If lot 103 goes ahead, there is no access to this green space from Barrington Close.
Lot 133 does not indicate if the access is from The Lakes Drive or Barrington Close.
I am a concerned resident and I know there are many more concerned that the originally plans of the estate are being considered for major changes. I have purchased in this quality estate for it's standard, peace of quiet and overall visual effect all of which are now being eroded.
