I am opposed strongly to this proposal. If used in this way, the opera house becomes a form of couch surfing, with dozy risers wandering around, disheveled .

It demeans the building and I am amazed it would even be considered.

No matter how the proposal is masaged to give the impression of being conttrolled and managed, it would be disastrous.

Thankyou for allowing me to comment.

I wish to object to the proposal on the following grounds:

* 12 storey hotel tower is too high and not in keeping with the local area

Application for development SSD 8778, Alterations and additions to
Greystanes Public School (781 Merrylands Road, Greystanes).
I object to this proposal,
Greystanes has been for long a low density suburb and all the road
infrastructure and children's playground facilities that were made,
were designed for low and medium density suburb.
In past 10 years the biggest residential development that has
converted this part of Greystanes to medium density suburb is from the
development of Pemulwuy residency area. Luckily, the area is
surrounded quite a few local public schools including Greystanes
Public School. All surrounding schools are more than capable of
handling this increase in school capacity demand.
The surrounding suburbs like, Toongabee, Pendle Hill, Merrylands, etc
have long been developed as a highdensity suburbs the local
publicschool capacity or playground facilities has not kept pace with
the developement. Also, most of the public schools in these suburbs do
not have opportunity classes in year 5 and 6 of school years.
Schools like Hilltop, Sherwood or Merrylands East, Public Schools will
benefit more with high rise and more capacity development in those
schools due to the high-density growth and town planning that has
taken place in those area. An investment into this will bring joy and
peace of mind to all respective local resident, as they will not have
to send their children to out of area school once the investment goes
into their school.
Besides, the current traffic handling capacity of approaching roads to
Greystanes Public School are at it's maximum capacity during the
school time. It will not be prudent if we do not stop and ask
ourselves a question at this stage, are we developing all the schools
in the area or just one? If we increase capacity of just one school in
the area, will it attract more students from out of area that has more
population due to high density town planning?
By not equipping the schools of surrounding suburbs, we will always
have traffic and capacity crisis at Greystanes Public School being a
opportunity class school. Hence my objection.
