To whom it may concern ,i wish to say ,in support of the application ,that the company is only changing the curfew hours of the shuttle train ,as i seems very hard to get train paths between Duralie and the washery at Stratford ,mainly due to the other rail traffic .Which includes Freigther trains ,Passenger services and Export Coal Services ,which all operate without an curfew .If oppostion is to the coal company ,then why doesn't the Export coal services operate under a curfew unfair in that case. The Coal company have had modern loco's placed on the shuttle services recently as stated in the aqpplication ,which operated within the noise guidlines .I have recently videoed both the2800 and GL locomotives working on the steepest grade involved and they have cut the noise ommissions considerably compaired withe the locomotives they have replaced .The area of most concern seems to be the Wards River area where, from observations recently the train is not under full power until clear of that area when loaded .In the empty direction the train genrally is coasting through Wards river .There are already a number of rail services opearte during the night hours in the area ,so one small train ,which at the latest time would be empty ,therefore no working to it's maximum power ,would undurly affect an increase in the already in place train noise ,that currently pass the area in question .

I live close to the North Coast rail line at Wards River, and I object to the application for extension of operating time for coal to be railed between Duralie and Stratford from the present 7am to 10pm to the requested 6am to 1am. The trains often break the current curfew, so this request would really result in coal trains running 24/7. I believe we deserve a little sleep., where possible, when the mine machinery allows us. I am sure the management lives well away from the rail line. Sandra Davis

We live close to Mt. Thorley Warkworth mine and are frequently woken and kept awake by noise.
It is totally unreasonable to permit noise interference, from rail movements, before 7am or after 10pm. It is ludricrous to expect people to tolerate only 5 hours uninterrupted sleep every night!
Once again, it is money first and "the people" don't matter, or come a very distant secondactually!
