What a stupid decision. To put this intermodal thing (container depot) next to our beautiful river near housing and going to put a trailer every 8 seconds on our roads. I bet not one of the decision makers will have to live anywhere near this bloody nightmare.
We have trouble moving around on the roads now, imagine when this goes in. I have lived in the same house for nearly fifty years you are not doing me any favors.
Take it out to Bringelly where it should be, it may even prove much more economical.

I strongly object to the intermodal being placed in Moorebank. I certainly do not want to breathe in more fumes and pollutants arising from this insane suggestion, as those already living in the area would agree.

Furthermore the congestion to be expected is totally unacceptable!

Put the intermodal at Badgerys Creek, I say.

The site for this development is completely inappropriate for the following reasons:

- Too close to residential dwellings
- Additional traffic congestion on local roads
- Air and noise pollution created over a wide radius
- Environmental damage to the Georges River

I am opposed to the SIMTA proposal for Moorebank Intermodal. My family resides in this area, has done so for 27 years, and uses the M5 / M7 / Heathcote roads to travel to / from work, visit friends and relatives and generally get around. These roads are already congested and there is an accident on Moorebank Avenue entrance to the M5 every day, not once a week, EVERY single day due to "weaving" required to exit onto Hume Highway, or move across for M5 / M7 exits. Introducing thousands of trucks into this mix EVERY day is an invitation to a catastrophy. The parties involved in this proposal, both the ones making it and the ones evaluating it, need to move into the area for a couple of weeks and take a long hard look at what they are proposing. There are far better options available, many of which have been put on the table. It is almost as if the government and SIMTA representatives have made a decision and will not be swayed, no matter what is put before them, just because, not because it is the best place for it, not because it will improve the area, not for any other reason, but because they made this investment years ago and will see it through no matter what. Please wake up people, this is a residential area, hugely populated, not an industrial area any longer, it is on the fringe of the city where there are already 2 intermodals operating, and where more housing is needed. Sell the land for housing, move the intermodal to Badgery's Creek, where it makes sense to have it. Airport, Rail, Intermodal. Not at Moorebank, please think again!!

this area is already heavily populated with trucks, it is already a traffic nightmare. don't do this, its not fair to those that live in the macarthur region, they already spend to much time travelling with out extra trucks on the road.
and the train line how will that effect the east hills line?

I drive a small car, big trucks don't care about us and it scares me that there will be to many accidents. not to mention the fact that the wholes and runs in the local roads already nearly lead small cars into the gutter or oncoming traffic. There is no safe reason you should do this to our area. it will cause deaths and accidents. are you able to say your going allow this.

I own my own trucks and the roads around here are already over flowing with rigs. WE do not need anymore, the RMS doesn't keep the roads well enough for another 1000 trucks a day. the danger of road damage increases as does the accident numbers due to poorly maintained road and a excess of trucks. We all have to share the busy roads in this area already, the area doesn't have enough artillery roads to cope with an influx of more trucks. move it further out. Kemps
