We in a climate crisis we need to stop coal mining not increase it. I am concerned about my children and grandchildren future

The Hunter valley needs this to go ahead, don’t wreck another industry.

I support the continue of HVO open cut mine

HVO is a responsible and inclusive workplace which allows me to provide a great quality of life for me and my family. I hope it can also do so for many more years. I support responsible mining and selling the highest quality coal to other countries which are still using coal to keep industry working and keeping people out of poverty. Please support our mine as the transition to clean energy is progressive role.

HVO is an economic anchor for the Upper Hunter community. The Hunter will not be in a position economically to lose the contribution this mine makes to the local economy. This is now even more critical given the announced closure of Mt Arthur in 2030. The 1500 ongoing jobs the mine provides is only a fraction of the jobs relied on by this operation, from local coffee shops, hairdressers, grocery stores etc.

The changes made in the project amendment provide a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions which allows the continuation of this valuable economic asset while a transitioning to a low carbon future.
