I strongly oppose this Solar Factory proposal due to the longterm negative impacts to the farming productivity of this beautiful grazing land which is a stunning patchwork of green pastures, yellow canola crops, brown phalaris heads, the kind of beauty that causes tourists to stop to have photographs in front of. I oppose the close proximity to farming and lifestyle residences (which has caused cruel suffering to local families mental health wellbeing for a prolonged period). I oppose the increased risks of contamination to local soils and water sources that will impact far beyond the site. I oppose the increased heat temperatures the sea of reflective panels will generate resulting in increased fire risks to all surrounding residents and farm and native animals. I oppose the inevitable displacement of the families of kangaroos that also reside on the propsed site. I oppose the locations unsuitability due to regular half day thick fogs, strong winds and seasonal glass breaking hail storms.
I support common sense sites for solar programs such as roof tops, car parks and remote uninhabited desert areas. I understand however, that the Labour government /greens agenda is relentlessly determined to tick green energy boxes at every opportunity regardless of the other more ‘common sense’ alternatives but please take the ‘Merino’ (which I also find highly offensive given that this breed of sheep is a farmed animal that has contributed greatly to the establishment of the local Goulburn and surrounding area) Solar Factory and build it somewhere else far far away!!!

1. Land Use and Zoning Impacts
The proposed development represents a major change in land use for this area, which is currently characterised by rural residential properties and agricultural activity. A large‑scale industrial installation may not align with the intended zoning objectives or the long‑term planning vision for the district.
2. Visual and Amenity Impacts
The scale and visibility of the project will significantly alter the rural landscape. The loss of visual amenity, increased glare, and the industrial appearance of the facility will negatively affect the character of the area and the enjoyment of neighbouring properties.
3. Environmental and Agricultural Considerations
The development may impact local wildlife habitats, water flow, and soil conditions. Additionally, converting productive or potentially productive agricultural land into an industrial site could have long‑term consequences for local food production and land value.
4. Traffic, Noise, and Construction Impacts
Construction and maintenance activities will increase heavy‑vehicle traffic on local roads not designed for such loads. Noise, dust, and disruption during the construction phase will also affect nearby residents.
5. Property Value Concerns
Large‑scale industrial developments in close proximity to residential properties have the potential to reduce property values due to visual impact, noise, and perceived risks.
For these reasons, I respectfully request that the proposal be reconsidered or that alternative locations more suitable for industrial‑scale renewable energy infrastructure be explored.

Prime agricultural land is already being irreplaceably destroyed with housing developments. This solar farm poses a loss to the rural environment where we live, it is a fire risk as we have had destructive bushfires numerous times through this area in recent years. Those chemicals once leeched into the soil through fire are not easily contained and damage the water table exposing us who rely on bore water etc to carcinogenic chemicals.
Solar panels should be on exisiting buildings / over railway lines or highways not on farmland. To call this “merino — farm” is misleading and insulting to our agricultural heritage.
This doesn’t bring any benefit either economical , cultural or aesthetic to our Goulburn Shire.
Please consider your ratepayers who love where we live and invest our lives in this area to enrich it for future generations to enjoy.

I object to this project on the grounds that it affects many people and communities in a negative way and has many hidden problems that no one wants to address.
