I often walked past the proposed site with work colleagues for lunchtime swims at North Sydney pool (when it was open), we all commented how antiquated the buildings were and that the site would be perfect for a significant development!
The site is central to trains, buses, ferry and metro transport let alone immediately adjacent cycle ramp recently completed and given that the land must be one of the last available of this size close to the City, anything less substantial would be a waste of potential to put a large number of, more family orientated, residences close to so much established infrastructure.
Given that this site only represents an extension of the high-rise corridor along Alfred Street the proposed development would to be entirely appropriate. By being slender, the buildings in the proposal appear to be sympathetic to any shadow concerns and public access through the site will improve safety for pedestrians walking from North Sydney to Milsons Point.
My wife and I have endured two and a half years of ongoing major developments within 100 metres of our home and see no reason why the burden of developments should not be shared by all in the North Sydney Council area!
In summary, I support this project and believe it will add considerable value to the whole Lavender Bay precinct.

I support the proposed redevelopment of 64–66 Lavender Street and 3–7 Middlemiss Street, Lavender Bay. The site is exceptionally well located within walking distance of Milsons Point and North Sydney railway stations, ferry services, employment centres, shops, and community facilities. Increasing housing supply in such a highly accessible location is consistent with sound urban planning principles and supports the NSW Government's objective of delivering more homes in areas with existing transport and infrastructure capacity. The proposal will replace ageing residential buildings with a contemporary development that makes more efficient use of scarce inner-harbour land while contributing additional housing, including affordable housing, in a location where demand is exceptionally high.

The redevelopment also has the potential to deliver broader public benefits through improved streetscape outcomes, enhanced landscaping, and activation of the site. The proposal has evolved through a detailed design and assessment process, with a two-tower arrangement intended to reduce visual bulk, preserve view corridors, and improve ground-level permeability. Given the site's strategic location between the established high-density precincts of Milsons Point and North Sydney, the development represents an appropriate transition that will help accommodate future population growth while supporting a vibrant and sustainable Lower North Shore community.

I strongly object to the project going ahead because my son and I have been living in our apartment for almost seven years, in which time there was the construction of the units across the road (61 Lavender St) which caused an unbearable amount of noise which is not suited to our beautifully quiet and calm surrounds. If the project goes ahead it will not only cause more deafening noise to myself and the local residents but also block the sunlight to our apartment building as well as totally eradicate any sense of privacy or security. There will be an even bigger problem for the residents without off street parking to find spaces to park their cars as the new property tenants will undoubtedly have visitors who will take up the almost already non-existant parking spots, and an overflow of people will be invading our beautiful parks and shopping/cafe locations that are already overpopulated especially on weekends. The new project will also bring a 'trashiness' to the area which consists of mainly terrace houses that have been around for years. The community would certainly not be the same.

The proposed Development -Middlemiss/Lavender Street SSD-86797708 concerns me greatly.
While a new development for this site is not necessarily opposed, the sheer size of what is proposed is frightening.
The intersection of Lavender Street/Alfred Street/Middlemiss Street/and traffic exiting the Pacific Highway from the Bridge is already extremely congested, and while the new landscaping in Alfred Street to accommodate the Cycle Ramp is an improvement, it has added difficulty to parking, inability to have Uber/Taxis pick up passengers and the regular stopping of traffic to allow the buses to pick up while stopped in a traffic lane. The combined pedestrian/cycle crossing on Alfred Street is far too close to cars turning into the street, badly light and poorly sign posted. I look down onto this crossing and tail ending accidents from cars braking suddenly are a regular occurrence.
The addition of two multi high rise apartment blocks adding hundreds of pedestrians and additional cars will only add to what is an already overcrowed precinct.
The height of the proposed apartments blocks will destroy the Heritage Character of Lavender Bay. Thousands of tourists travel annually to this area to view the bridge from Lavender Street, to visit Wendy's Garden and of course the Jacaranda viewing.
I sincerely request that the NSW Planning Department review the height of the proposed development and conduct a Cycle/Car/Pedestrian activity study before progressing any further with this development
yours sincerely
