Alterations, additions and use of the premises for the purpose of a Waste or Resource Transfer Station for scrap metals. The proposed activity is classified as ‘Designated Development’ pursuant to Schedule 3 of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulation 2021.
The proposal is also classified as ‘Nominated Integrated Development’, requiring a referral to the NSW Environmental Protection Authority, as a ‘Scheduled Activity’ in which the operator is required to obtain an Environment Protection Licence, pursuant to Sections 43(b), 48 & 55 of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997.
The application will be referred to the Sydney North Planning Panel under the EP&A Act 1979 for determination as the development is classified as a ‘sensitive development’.
