The Illawarra Shoalhaven Plan is a strategic land use plan that will guide how the NSW Government manages growth in the region over the next 20 years.
The draft plan outlines how the region will accommodate a growing population while improving access to housing, jobs, infrastructure and services, and protecting the natural environment that defines the Illawarra Shoalhaven. It applies to the local government areas of Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and Wingecarribee.
The draft Illawarra Shoalhaven Plan is on exhibition until 5 pm Monday 28 September 2026.
Help shape the future of the Illawarra Shoalhaven region. Read the draft plan to learn more about what’s planned for the region over the next 20 years and have your say on how it grows.
