Draft amendment to the State Environmental Planning Policy (Mining, Petroleum Production and Extractive Industries) (Coal Seam Gas Exclusion Zones) 2013

Amendments are being made to the Mining SEPP. The proposed amendments would prohibit coal seam gas development: on or under land in and within 2km of a residential zone or future identified residential growth areas; and on or under land which is in a Critical Industry Cluster (CIC). Currently, two CICs have been identified - the Upper Hunter equine and viticulture CICs.
