We are proposing to make a State Environmental Planning Policy (the proposed instrument) to amend the planning controls for the Huntlee New Town Site and to transfer the planning controls for the site into the relevant local environmental plans. The objectives of the proposed instruments are to: Rezone certain land from B4 Mixed Use and R1 General Residential to SP2 Infrastructure (Utilities) to facilitate the provision of water recycling and off-grid energy facilities. Allow “waste or resource management facility” as an interim land use at the Huntlee site. Transfer the planning controls for the Huntlee New Town Site from State Environmental Planning Policy (Major Development) 2005 into the local environmental planning instruments (Cessnock Local Environmental Plan 2011 and Singleton Local Environmental Plan 2013). Repeal Part 27, Schedule 3 of State Environmental Planning Policy (Major Development) 2005.
