Hi Mr Shakir,

Thank you very much for sending me your letter of 16 September 2024 in relation to the matter at 40 The Retreat, Bringelly reference (SSD – 65729209).

In relation to this development, I would like to convey to you that my family’s 5 acre property at Bringelly is located about 400 m away from this proposed development on Kelvin Park Drive. In this regard, I would dearly like to know what impact this development is going to have in the future of my property.

Let me explain. My property has been ear marked for acquisition by the NSW Government for nearly 8 years. But the NSW Government have done nothing to get this matter to fruition. As a result, I cannot sell the property. This, as you will appreciate, has put significant financial strain on me and my siblings by way of meeting associated expenses such as council rates and land tax. And they are increasing every year. As I said above, the family cannot sell this property.

Is there any way that we can bring this matter to some kind of resolution. Can you suggest what we can do to help the NSW Government getting this matter finalised?. This whole matter is most upsetting. I believe the NSW Government is holding us to ransom. The NSW Government says that they want our property for services but do not want to finalise the purchase. We will be prepared to listen to what the NSW Government have in mind to get this matter to a close.
