To whom it may concern,

I would like to register my objection to the development of the Apollo Place Data Centre (SSD-67407231)

My reasons are as follows:

-- Exceeding height limit --
The proposed development exceeds the height limit of the Lane Cove Local Environment Plan (2009) by a significant margin (81.5%). If the height limit was complied to it would not be as visible from the suburb of East Ryde or the National Park. With the new height limit it is quite imposing and takes away from the serenity of the National Park and views within the suburb. Furthermore the noise from the operation of the data centre would be increased as some of the noise sources are located on the roof.

-- Noise during operation --
It is my belief that the operational noise will be audible to the residents of East Ryde in the evening and night.

The majority of “annoying noise” characteristics that will be audible in the evening and night will be in the low frequencies. However, the “typical operations assessment” in the “Noise and Vibration Impact assessment” is using an “A weighted filter” instead of a “C weighted filter”. An “A weighted” filter removes a large majority of the produced noise (it emphasises frequencies between 3-6KHz) before analysis and therefore will not take into account the effect of the low frequency noise on sensitive receivers such as nearby residents in East Ryde.

It is my belief that further analysis needs to be performed than what is described in Section 5.4.2 “Annoying noise characteristics adjustments” of the “Noise and Vibration Impact assessment” in addition with what is already required by the SEARS since the SEARS doesn’t necessarily take into account the effect of low frequencies.

I believe that this analysis and the required design changes need to be performed before approval as it is hard to rectify after the completion of such a project.

-- Noise during construction --
Due to the length of the construction restricting loud construction sounds (e.g. pile driving) to normal office hours (9 – 5 Monday to Friday) is preferred to minimise the impact on the residents of East Ryde and users of the Lane Cove National park.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

As tenants of 4 Apollo Place, Lane Cove West, we acknowledge the need for development in our area. However, we wish to express several concerns regarding the significant development currently being considered at 1 Apollo Place Lane Cove West 2066.

Currently, the high volume of tradespeople involved in this current project has created substantial challenges in securing adequate parking for our employees. While we encourage our staff to use public transportation, the lack of sufficient footpaths, combined with heavy truck and trade traffic, presents significant safety risks. This is particularly concerning from a Work Health and Safety (WHS) perspective, especially for employees with disabilities who may encounter additional hazards in this environment. We respectfully request that upgrades to the footpaths be considered to support safe, accessible commutes for all.

Additionally, we would like to see a comprehensive parking plan for the duration of the project to mitigate these ongoing issues.

Finally, we are concerned that the height of the proposed building may significantly reduce the natural light available to our office on the second floor. This potential reduction in light could impact our workplace environment and employee well-being.

We appreciate your attention to these concerns and look forward to understanding how the council plans to address these matters as the development progresses.

Dear Messers amd Mesdames
I strongly object to the Apollo Place Data Centre project currently on exhibit.
They have already exceeded the height maximum allowed with their current buildings and should not be allowed to exceed it again, and even higher still.
This current building is an eye sore and it is a big shame that this monstrous complex is next to beautiful natural bushland and in its surrounds. It is too big and too high already.
Please deny this proposal.
If they want another data centre, they can build it somewhere else.
Also, I would like to know what dangers does any data centre, impose on the health of people and animals and fauna in its vicinity?
I come to the Lane Cove Industrial area on most weekdays.
Please disapprove this proposal.
