Finley Solar Project Submission

Issues as follows:

1. Weed Control: The Shire is concerned about the what plans / controls are in place to ensure that weeds do not get out of control, and impact on adjoining properties.

2. Access: The Applicant will need to ensure that the access to and from the site, during construction of the Solar Panels and any further maintenance, is considered.

3. Screening Vegetation: Council feels that the screening vegetation is current insufficient. We suggest further/denser vegetation - as we believe it is currently not wide enough.

4. Compatibility with Neighbouring Agricultural Land Uses: Council is concerned that neighbouring agricultural practices may impact on the operation of the solar farm, especially through dust.

5. Stormwater Runoff: Council would like more details in regards to the Stormwater Runoff from the Panels and whether the runoff will impact on neighbouring properties, as well as the nearby Murray Irrigation Limited (MIL) channel system.

6. Impact on groundwater: Council is concern about the development's impact on groundwater, as the site is in an area where ground is less than 3m below the surface.

7. Access for Murray Irrigation Limited: Has the applicant considered enabling access to the Local Irrigation Authority (MIL) to undertake functions - supply of water and drainage.
