sight
only 18months ago we purchased our property for the sole purpose of
being close to town but have the country feel combined with this the
fact that we had a great view overlooking the valley to the south and
into the hills. we were excited that the roadworks were only months
from being finished and to have that natural look back. but to see the
plain façade of the hospital, which we were under the impression that
this would be excluded by trees. when consultations with those that
attended at the services club, we were lead to believe that the
hospital would NOT be so close to our boundary and that the visual
aspect would NOT be as much of an impact as it seems to be in the
photos, the road that goes from the car park to the receivables of the
hospital just looks plain and boring with no indication that trees or
shrubbery would exclude this view. from the pictures we can still see
a fair proportion of the car park and this again with vehicle lights
at all hours of the night certainly doesn't give our home the feel of
being in the country. basically we don't want to see any part of the
hospital...
sound
I believe there is a certain sound level that is acceptable by sound
engineers but when we could hear workers talking on the top of the
hill where the hospital will sit I feel this will be unachievable.
with car noise from driving to closing doors chatter even arguments we
can here it all, then combine the general noise of air conditioners
etc that would need to be used it will invade our serenity.
safety
we don't feel safe leaving our home unattended. at night we have
lights on but we feel that an opportunists could sit in that car park
and scout any house that didn't have its lights on and would have a
great opportunity to then invade.

lights
where you have a public service certain levels of safety have to be
achieved. there will be lighting all around this complex from in the
car park to along the driveway security lighting and even the security
car doing its rounds all contribute to the level of lighting that
diminishes our country look.

with all this in mind we feel that when the time comes to sell our
property the value wont be there all because our scenery has
disappeared, our noise has been invaded, and the lights have invaded
our space, and we would need to sell substantially below value to make
a sale which impacts our asset.

I think a new hospital is a great thing.
I don't think the position for the new hospital is ideal for our
location because of all of the reasons above.
this is our home we made it a place to raise our children and have a
more country life style we are extremely disappointed with the so far
vision that has been proposed.

surely there is something else that can be done

I have attached photos of before the hospital and a superimposed photo
after
