The Riverina is being turned into a toxic dump site littered with energy infrastructure just because the Government is selling us out to the CCP.
The last thing Australia needs is Reckless RenewaBULLs supported by Cheung Kong controlling Gas infrastructure.
We need NEW, CHEAP, RELIABLE BASE-LOAD HELE COAL POWER INSTEAD.

I am the closest residential neighbour to the power station. Our house is approximately 800m from the proposed site as the bird flies. Our property starts within 100m of the station. Uranquinty Power Station is also at the proposed site. During the Power stations construction we could hear reversing buzzers and an obscene amount of noise during the construction. Currently the power station runs under a noise easement that was created with a negotiated agreement due to the manufactures and developers not being able to meet the proposed noise constraints and in fact running above EPA guidelines for the area. In the scoping report they state that construction will include weekends 7am till 6pm. Having already lived through this hearing reversing buzzers, loud bangs, rattle guns etc when do locals get reprieve and get to enjoy the variety of wildlife that we currently do. Will we be able to entertain during this time without having to listen to construction? will we be able to sit outside and enjoy of sanctuary like we do or will it be ruined by this proposed works? what mitigation works will happen to avoid this noise pollution from happening?

The proposed pumping station has done noise testing at our property to determine current noise levels and to base that as the level of noise they need to work from. With above noise limits currently happening under negotiated agreement (on occasion windows rattle and headaches happen from the frequency of the noise) we do not wish for additional noise to be added to our environment. We also have the smell of gas and rotten eggs from time to time come from the direction of the power station, will the pumping station omit a gas smell like this? Visiting the pumping station at Culcairn indicates it could and speaking to locals they tell me it is extremely noisy and does have an impact on them. in the scoping report it states "Operational noise would be generated from equipment and use of UCS. Compressor stations typically incorporate
insulated walls, shielded exhaust systems and advanced fan technology that dampens sound. As such, with
appropriate controls in place, operational noise can be minimal." What is the DBA of this minimal noise? Will it meet guidelines the EPA have set for our district that the power station has to comply with? Will the pumping station abide by the same rules? Is the pumping station relying on DBA levels that are operating under negotiated agreements and under noise easements?

My husband suffered an injury leaving him a C4 tetraplegic and is now house bound. He can not regulate his temperature but when the weather is right he lives outdoors. He only has a partial diaphragm to use to breathe. In the scope it states "During operation, the UCS will generate emissions to air which pose some risk to the local amenity (odour and
dust) and health (fine particulates, nitrous oxides, volatile organic compounds and other gaseous compounds) at
nearby sensitive receivers." with his limited lung capacity how will this proposed development impact his health when currently he can be outside and enjoy our property but this statement indicates it could have drastic implications in the future. With an inability to cough and clear his lungs without assistance will having this pumping station within 850m or if he is in the paddock within 50m-100m at its closest point this statement is extremely scary and will limit his ability to use his own property.

With the added noise of a pumping station is he still going to be able to enjoy his sanctuary that is his home and property. Will our workers and children face issues from the possible noise? Speaking with health experts they inform us it is not healthy for humans to live with elevated noise day in and day out and has impacts on mental health as well as stress levels. (Health expert was a university lecturer from Adelaide university.) What evidence is provided that this project will not have health impacts on people that live and work close to the proposed site, especially those that have a disability and have diagnosed sensory issues?

As a working property we run a couple of hundred head of cattle and use the paddock within approx 50m of the proposed site to house said cattle. What impact does the line have on animal health? Will any loud noises cause issues with cattle stampeding through fences etc?

We found out about the pumping station from Uranquinty Progress association publishing information about it online but as one of the closes neighbours they never approached us. It was us whom contacted them asking about the project. It took them months to reply to my email and I still have questions that were asked that have never been answered yet in the scoping report they state "Stakeholder engagement have been, and will continue to be, undertaken through a variety of approaches,
including face-to-face and remote consultation methods.
Communication methods to date have included face-to-face and video conference meetings, phone calls, and
meeting with key stakeholders. APA will also employ their standard media, crisis communications, complaints
management and corporate communications strategies and protocols." My only knowledge of this application was from a letter from the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. How is this acceptable? Is this an indication to the communication and way of been treated from the developers? We have an open communication with Elecnor, Transgrid and The Uranquinty Power Station. APA have our details as the Gas Pipeline runs through our property and they send a Christmas notice to us each year so they know who we are and where we live. Is this silence an indication of what to expect? Today 30th September 2025 I spoke to a neighbour whose house is closer than Uranquinty village but he knew nothing of it. How is this a reasonable and open communication or consultation?

In the proposed report it states "operates 24hours a day" will this have an impact on our ability to sleep? Current operation hours of the power station are to cease at 9pm. From time to time the power station is operating outside of these hours under instruction from higher authorities. On these occasions our children and ourselves are impacted and struggle to sleep. Whenever this occurs the station has worked with us to resolve these issues? what impacts have been considered to close residents?
The report states 3 residents that are close. There are 2 houses between 800m and 900m from the site on hanging rock as well as a further 3 houses approx 1.3km from the proposed site on hanging rock road. Another home at Greendale to the west 1.9km as well as a few others at the 3-4km mark. Quite a few more than the 3 mentioned.

Have considerations been put in place to recognise the oversize farming equipment that uses Uranquinty Cross Roads on a regular basis? Will the construction activities make it unsafe when kids need to catch buses in Uranquinty to attend TAFE, School etc? Families on the western side of Uranquinty have to drive their children to town to catch buses and to the local school. With an increase in traffic from transgrid power line the roads have been damaged and are falling apart. An increase in traffic could cause similar problems what is the requirements as stated it will be remotely turned on and off from Brisbane so long term it will be locals that suffer the consequences of this. In the scoping report it states "During construction, the local air quality could potentially be impacted by dust generation from clearing, materials
handling, plant and equipment, and truck movements. Additionally, construction traffic and machinery will generate
exhaust emissions. The impacts are anticipated to be minimal in nature." I ask by whose standards are the impacts being anticipated? From the locals who live here or someone in an office in the city? Has the person who made this statement been on the ground to assess these impacts?

In the scope it states the nearest waterway is "The nearest watercourse is Sandy Creek, located approximately 1.9 km north-east of the proposed site" however they have omitted the same distance to Roping Pole Swamp (to the west of the proposed site) with water draining from this area to it.

the scoping report it states "– risks associated with failure of equipment resulting in gas leaks, fire and explosion from natural gas." What safety measures are in place to safeguard my business and home from this potential hazard. What safeguards are in place for my workers, children, husband and his carers? As a tetraplegic he is unable to move without being hoisted to and from a wheelchair/bed. In the instance that this takes place and immediate evacuation has to take place considering we are only approx 850m from the proposed site how safe is it?

Finally what biosecurity measures are in place to ensure no new weeds or another form of biosecurity risks will be introduced from people flying in to work as stated in the scope report? Our property has an in-depth biosecurity plan and see biosecurity as a very important part of our business. What safeguards will be in place to ensure that biosecurity measures of the neighbours are respected and ensured that roadside weeds are not introduced from up to 30 plus heavy vehicles daily plus other construction vehicles as well as the cargo that they bring in?

If APA are not able to meet their proposed dBA dBC noise levels what is to happen? will local residents just have to suffer? How will noise be monitored during and post?
