Thank you for the opportunity to make a submission.

Whilst in a broad sense I have no objection to the increase of ore extraction or increasing the ventilation flow I do strongly object to more daily ore trucks travelling through town from 16 to possibly 21. These large double trucks are a road hazard. They also damage the road surface in the areas of their routes. Council are having to patch up holes in the road surfaces in particular where the trucks are making their turning circles to negotiate corners. This is particularly bad in summer. This is turn takes the Councils roadworks focus away from other areas in town that are deserving of long awaited repairs.
I remember years ago there was initial talk of a bypass road on the very outskirts of town whereby trucks could avoid any driving within the city limits. Surely with a proposal in the number of trucks travelling on city roads it is time to revisit this option?
The current route takes the trucks past the Community Health Centre where elderly people are crossing the road to get to their parked cars. This Community Centre building had not been erected when the initial North Project was put forward years ago. Consideration needs to be taken on the safety of people along Crystal Street.

I feel strongly that the mines should now be held accountable to building that bypass road before we see a dreadful accident and people injured or worse.
