Dear Sir/Madam
I am strenuously objecting to the magnitude of this proposal. I am astounded that the developers have sought to increase the size of one of the tower blocks that are being proposed. Tower blocks of this magnitude will NOT integrate into the community that is already in existence. This type of housing is not conducive to creating any sense of new Community. North Ryde has already reached its housing obligations, to cram people into these monstrous towers is not necessary.
This is not affordable housing the current asking price for apartments at the Stamford Hotel site is exorbitant and I have no doubt these apartments will be likewise.
These apartments will invariably be picked up by investors which again does nothing to promote Community integration.
The traffic, school, amenities and other infrastructure is not in place to meet this enormous rise in the population.
The blight on the environment and landscape of North Ryde that these towers will create will have a hugely negative impact on Lane Cove National Park.
Common sense must prevail. It is completely unnecessary to pack so many people into such a small space.
