I would like to lodge my concerns in relation to the Wentworthville
Public School development proposal.
The concerns I have are in regards to the Environmental Impact
statement as outlined in the proposal documents. Repeated requests for
access to the arbourers report have been denied by both the school
administration and the developers.
The various flora located on site provides a sanctuary or small
ecological island for native species in an area that is fast becoming
developed. There are numerous species that visit seasonally to take
advantage of the food supply as well as a number of native bird,
reptile and small mammal species that utilise the site year round. I
object strongly to the provisions in the development proposal allowing
the removal of one of the only old growth trees in the area, the
hollows providing a much needed breeding site for the native fauna.
I would like to see this provision removed from the development
proposal and a little more transparency when it comes to the fate of
local native populations.
