Planning and development application fee unit for 2024/25 financial year

09 May 2024

News

From 1 July 2024, the fee unit for planning services will increase to reflect movements in the consumer price index (CPI). The increase affects development application fees and other fees contained in Schedule 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021, which are based on fee unit values.

The fee unit will increase from $107.28 to $111.32 for the financial year starting 1 July 2024. Information on the planning and development fees that apply in 2024/25 can be viewed in the schedule of fees and charges.

Updating the fee unit each year in line with CPI changes means that fees will better reflect the cost of providing planning services and any increases will be gradual. There will also be minor changes to Planning Portal service fees to reflect movements in CPI. Councils and state agencies should update their processes and information accordingly to ensure they are collecting the correct fees from 1 July and
providing correct information to applicants.
