I strongly support his proposal and have some commentary to provide.
1. I support this proposal as it is close to public transportation and shops. We need more housing supply as we are in a housing crisis.
2. I strongly encourage the use of induction or standard electric cook-tops be used as well as heat pump hot water instead of gas appliances. This is because gas is a fossil fuel, as there are more efficient and less costly to the environment and for people who will live in the apartments, its use should be reconsidered. If gas is to be used for cooktops and hot water, then apartment owners will be forced to pay for a separate daily connection fee to use the gas cooktop and for hot water they will be paying an estimated additional $479 a year (https://www.smh.com.au/environment/climate-change/how-sydneysiders-could-save-730-a-year-by-ditching-gas-20240325-p5feyf.html). You can find evidence to show that hot water heat pumps are more efficient than gas hot water heating and that induction cooktops are more efficient than gas cooktops. Gas is also a fossil fuel, has potential health impacts when used as part of cooking.

NO to this development please.
Please consider a three story block of apartments for extra housing if this is absolutely necessary, not a tower of apartments!
Consideration should be given to the heritage and historical significance of this area for future generations.
Please keep Lindfield clean and green.

This new development has following issues:
1. 2 out of 3 properties are outside the original TOD. If this development is allowed, then the TOD policy is in need for further clarification and explaination.
2. It is within a Hertage Conservation area.
3. This building is over 32m in height which exceeds maximum permitted building height, and it is incompatible with neighbourhood streetscape.
4. It is within flood zone and reparian zone.
This new development is affecting the community in below ways:
1. The current traffic and parking has been a increasing issue in the community. This development will make the current situation worse. If this development is to be carried out still, new infrastructue need to be built to accommodate. (roads widening, traffic lights, stomwater facility, police station, post office, etc.).
2. Overshadow, privacy and solar access would be negatively affected.
3. Environment, biodiversity and reduction in tree canopy and mature trees.
4. More crowded and potentially more crime rate with increasing development.
We all want our suburb 'Lindfield' to develop and become better with time., but based on above points, I object this development. Thank you for your time in reviewing this submission.

This project hasn’t had adequate planning / studies conducted prior to seeking approval. I believe the 9 story height is excessive and will be detrimental to the landscape and environment, and I’m not sure that Lindfield has the infrastructure to support the rapid rise of so many high density apartment developments

This development is outside of the development area.
It is excessively high and obtrusive. It does not fit in with local environment.
Excessive and distracting bulk and scale for its location.
Reduction in tree canopy and mature trees; overloading of hard spaces in this area.
Keep high rise apartments next to the train station and not in low density zoned areas.

I object to this proposal for a number of reasons. As a young person, I appreciate the governments attempt to increase housing density however this is not the way to do it. The government, without consultation, plans to implement these irreversible changes that will impact all of the families of lindfield, along with our beautiful wildlife. This proposal destroys gorgeous heritage houses, which are otherwise so protected, and will completely alter the quiet, classic landscape of Lindfield. Not to mention how our infrastructure would now have to cater for the inhabitants of 167 apartments, space which we don’t have. Traffic, noise pollution and much more would congest the area, causing issues for all people living in Lindfield and people passing through. Furthermore our “leafy north shore” suburb would be no more, as this proposal would have an incredible impact on our tree canopy, and mature trees, along with disturbing the fauna around during construction, and destroying their habitats in the long term. There are other ways to increase housing density without destroying the nature and heritage of Lindfield.
