Yarrabin currently enjoys Bortle Class 2 skies and has what is often described as some of the best clear skies for astronomy in NSW. As an avid astronomer, the installation of the wind turbines will destroy the dark skies that I rely upon due to the permanent lighting on all turbine masts. This means that astronomical imaging will not be possible at the very least, to the South any longer. The true impact will not be felt until they are installed, but based on this potential risk alone, it is critical that I object to the project.
In addition to this, the uninterrupted skyline of the Worlds End range that we look upon from our deck will be permanently changed.
I will no longer be able to advertise as an attractive destination for amateur astronomers to visit as the visual amenity will be drastically changed for the worse.
I cannot speak of the ecological impact as this is not my area expertise but from the papers I have read it would appear that there will be severe impacts.
As my property in Yarrabin was purchased for it's visual amenity, if the wind farm is installed on the Worlds End range, a decrease in value of approximately 30% - 50% is assumed.

The residents of the area will be unfairly impacted and the development will adversely impact the fauna or the area as well as the serenity, peace and atmosphere of the local area without sufficient benefits to the population either locally or as a whole. These wind farms are being raised in an area that is inappropriate and damaging to the environment without the implied benefits they are supposed to attain.

I am emailing you to submit my objection to the Burrendong Wind Farm Proposal. I am a full time resident of my property Warra Park in Hargraves, part of the original Killawarra, which also includes my home, the original Killawarra Cottage.
I object the entire project as a whole as it is a farce, an eyesore on an area of outstanding natural beauty, with significant agricultural heritage and importance, an absolute fire hazard in an area of scrubland so remote it would only be accessible by aerial firefighting. This has given me and my family nights of stress and anxiety thinking about the drastically increased risk of fire in this harsh terrain.
I specifically request the removal of turbines 67,68,69 and 70 which nearest my property of which I will be able to see and hear from all areas of my property. This will cause significant noise polluition, and eyesore, increased fire risk, as well as decreasing the value of my property. I have received an independent valuation of my property this year and will be seeking remedies if the value of the property were to decrease as a result of the wind turbine project.
I also note, that our home is not included in the report as it has not included homes or dwellings that were built before the introduction of DA's. I find this extremely concerning that me and my family are being overlooked as the result of living in 110 year old historic home of Hargraves. I request that my home be reincluded in the report. I have included a photo of our historic home.
I also note that I have not see or been offered the results of the photomontage which was produced on my property. I specifically provided access to my property on the basis that I was to be provided with a photomontage. At this point I believe to have been deceived and tricked into providing access to my property by Ark Energy.

I object to this proposal as it will be destructive to the environment and destroy the stunning views from my brother and sister-in-law’s farm that we visit regularly with our family.
This project will take the whole experience away from enjoying this property. We had no idea how much destruction in the building and maintaining wind turbines would have on the bush until my brother started educating us on the ill effects.
We have experienced an abundance of birdlife – up to 10 eagles at once flying above the property, heard koalas calling - this would be sinful for it to be destroyed.
Right where these turbines are listed below – this is within a couple of hundred metres of our favourite camping and picnic spot with 360 degree views over our beautiful countryside.
We hope the department sees the destruction this will have on their farm outlook and reject the project or at least remove the closest turbines to them 67, 68, 69 and 70.
I thank you for your consideration in my objection.
