I work for a contracting company on site at HV operations. Employment through this company is the reason I moved to the Hunter Valley from Mudgee in 2020, Through the income I make from my employment on site at HVO I'm able to own a home in the region and spend my income supporting local businesses around the region. Mining is the lifeblood of the Hunter Valley and maintaining it in an ecologically sustainable manner for a longer period is going to keep the local economy thriving.

I wish to formally register my support for the HVO North and HVO South Continuation Projects. I believe that these proposals offer significant benefits to the Hunter Valley region—especially through job retention, economic stability, and regional services support.

The continuation supports around 1,500 ongoing jobs, including apprenticeships and construction roles, sustaining local employment.
- It preserves indirect support for local businesses—mining services, contractors, and supply chains—with economic contributions exceeding $1.5 billion in 2022 alone and over $4 billion NPV in benefits.
