our family is all for mt thorley getting its approval,we live in singleton,without it we are on the street.

I have many friends and family working within in the mining industry, some St Mt Thorley itself. Their livelihood revolves around their job and their income to support themselves and their family. The mines are what keeps Singleton/Muswellbrook afloat. Without people here for work, there's not really any other reason to be here. Cutting of jobs would in turn affect the whole town.

I believe the expansion should be granted. Support the workers of a local mine which supports all the local communities and workplaces. Without mining in the huntervalley, these towns such as singleton, maitland, branxton, greta etc will all become ghost town. As myself and my family and alot of other families will have to consider packing up and leaving this area to follow the jobs else where. Which then will make the businesses big and small all suffer. From you car dealership to your food and clothing stores to your little hairdresser & sporting groups etc, they will struggle and possibly close if us 1300 + workers lose our jobs due to this expansion being denied..

This community cannot afford to lose anymore jobs. I meet people everyday who have lost their jobs due to the downturn and don't know how they will provide for their families. I agree that environmental impacts need to be managed however I also believe the social impacts I am seeing at the moment, due to job losses, are just as worrying. A better balance needs to be struck.

Support mining families and help Australian economy to grow !

As a trainee coal train driver I rely on the continuation of mining in the Hunter Valley region. Some people don't understand the flow on effects through other industries if you were to start closing down mines. As long as the Warkworth continuation complies with environmental standards I believe the pros outweigh the cons.

I would like to show my support for the workers at Mt Thorley Warkworth.

Save 1300 jobs .

For the future of mining and the supporting industries throughout the Hunter Valley, this approval needs to be approved ASAP

I have worked at mount thorley warkworth for the past ten years and I would lke to continue my career there. If we don't get this extension my job will be in jeopardy and my young family will suffer if I lose my job so we need this extension to secure me and my family's future.
