Good afternoon, I support the current propsoal for a pub and restaurant at Barangaroo South. Historically there were many food and beverage opportunities located in this area, supporting Sydney's vibrant martime industry. A pub and restaurant in this location will also continue the activation process of Millers Point, so long cut off and isolated from the city, working well in conjunction with other establishments such as the Pallisade Hotel, Argyle Cafe, Curry at the Rocks, Fish at the Rocks and the Lord Nelson Hotel. Pubs are culturally important places in Australian culture. Working in line with relevant licencing laws and within reason, we should encourage the development of new pubs, such as the current proposal, as a way to foster Sydney's identity and traditions. Construction of a pub will provide further opportunity to develop local character and identity. Lastly, if not already decided, the name of the pub should be strong and mature, having some relevance to Sydney, the local environment, local area or it's inhabitants - again providing the opportunity to create local character and tradition.
