I wish to make an addition to my previous objection.
In line with my concern over the lack of credibility of any imposed conditions I have legal advice which says under 3A 'The EPA Act excludes anyone from taking enforcement proceedings in the land and environment court (class 4 proceedings) to enforce the conditions of a critical infrastructure approval or to remedy or restrain a breach of the EP&A act or any other environmental law in relation to the project unless the proceedings are brought or approved by the planning minister. This translates to me as AGL can agree to any number of conditions but no one except the planning minister can enforce compliance with said conditions. Also I have noticed reference to the fact that AGL claim project compliance with NSW industrial noise limits. This is entirely irrelevant as Dalton is not in any way an industrial area and so instead of a background noise level of 60 dB Dalton's is sub 25dB so any "industrial" noise will be a huge impost on the community

I am totally against this proposal. I have 40 acres very close to the proposed site and the last thing I need is to have a power plant built nearby.

Hello, my name is Danica Bulger. I have lived in Dalton for 5 years and my eldest child attends Dalton Public School. It is my hope that her two siblings will also attend Dalton PS.
I wish to lodge my objection to AGL's request for an extension of time for the commencement of work on the proposed gas plant project at Dalton (DDP), NSW.
I'm opposed to the extension for the following reasons:

* My husband and I bought our property in Dalton in December 2012. We decided to buy a property in the Dalton area, to escape the rat race, noise and air pollution of the city. Our plan was to extend our family in a safe, unspoiled environment and teach them how to be respect, nurture and care for this precious natural setting. Destroying and polluting our community by building a huge gas plant next to our home, is in complete opposition to why we chose come to Dalton. Should this plant proceed, our children will be left to clean up the mess, that history shows, this kind of power station will leave behind.
* We purchased our property at 23 Cowper Street Dalton for the beautiful views from all of our windows. All our living and bedroom windows face north to capture the pristine views, light and warmth. The proposed location of the plant, is approx. 3km away, to the north of our property. Should this plant be approved, our stunning rural views will be destroyed and instead be dominated by six ugly concrete stacks.
* Our property borders a local road, which would service the proposed plant. It is estimated that 280 trucks will travel along this road every day. This huge increase in dangerous traffic would cause a massive health and safely issue for my family. Currently my children have the freedom to safely explore our property and learn about their natural environment. We grow many vegetables and run both chickens and sheep.
* The dust, dirt, noise, pollution and danger these trucks pose, will significantly affect our home, health and lifestyle.
* I am very concerned for the health of my children and future grandchildren, particularly with respect to risks to their fertility, caused by air, water & soil pollution produced by the plant. I also have great environment concerns for our wildlife and the already endanger species found in the Lachlan River which runs through the centre of Dalton.
* It terrifies me to consider that we may be forced to pack up and leave this beautiful place so that an environmentally dangerous power plant can be built.
* The local Dalton school has been in operation since 1864 and has serviced our community well for over 150 years. If the plant goes ahead all the local families will have to leave Dalton and the local school with have to close.
* Many Dalton families would be faced with the prospect of losing their homes, jobs and peaceful lifestyles, putting even greater pressure on an already stressed farming community.
* We moved to Dalton in 2012 with NO knowledge of the proposed plans by AGL. We made a huge financial commitment when we bought our family home here. It has come as came as a huge shock to discover that, should this power plant proceed, our property will be worth far less than what we paid five years ago. We have worked extremely hard over the last five years to build a safe, secure and happy life for ourselves, and our children.
* Granting a further two year extension to AGL, so that they can wait for better business conditions, means we not only have to live with stress and uncertainty, but also postpone our planned home renovations for at least another two years, until AGL decide what they want to do.
* As a first step in assessing the levels of sound and visual pollution this plant might pose, I hereby request that the Department of Planning & Environment undertake a noise & sight assessment on my property as soon as possible.

I am opposed to the AGLs extension ( MP10_0035 MOD1) being granted because I find it hard to believe that AGL would be spending all this money on a Power Plant to only run at peak times, it would not be a viable investment for them, it just would not pay. So I believe they must have some future plans to run it full time so as to make a return on their huge investment.
The big problem with AGL for me is that I can't trust them because the last time we went through all of this , whenever they were asked a direct question they would never give a straight answer. Furthermore, I oppose because if this is going to be so clean & noise free that it can be built on top of a small Village as AGL are claiming, then why not build it closer to Sydney where they need it for their peak times?The truth is that they would never be allowed to build so close & risk so many peoples health but yet it's OK to build on top of a small but very well established community, perhaps because with them not having as many votes they are not as important to the politicians care about.
With the Gas prices & shortages etc., is building this plant the answer ? & if it is then please can it built where it doesn't wipe out an entire small community. Thank you for taking the time to read my submission as this is very important to me
