Coal mining in the valley is the largest job source. It is not an ideal industry. But it is what we have due to politicians selling Australian assets for short term gains with no sight of the future. Until Australia begins making and selling products we will need to continue mining as a source of income. Hopefully working to a future where we will no longer need to rely on selling our finite assets to make money as a nation.

Good for the economy, Provides jobs for over 1500 people and contracting companies and they support charities

I believe that HVO continuing it's operations well into the future is essential for economic sustainability of the Hunter region and its communities.

I support the project as it not only provides jobs and stability for myself and those I work with, it also continues to support local businesses and the community.

I support continuation of the project based on the grounds that it will provide significant financial contributions to the local and regional community. HVO operates in a responsible manner and will look to continually improve efficiency and minimise community and environmental impacts.

As a local to singleton and the Hunter Valley I value the open cut mining industry and all that it provides to my local community.

HVO is good for the economy in the local area of Singleton with a strong workforce employing over 1500 full time workers.

The project supports the local community in various ways not just the donating of money by providing jobs and pathways for people and businesses outside of direct mine employees the rehabilitation of all previously mined land and infrastructure the project is an integral part of the community and can be for many years to come
