Kiama Depot

Proposal:  

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (the Department) has finalised the Kiama Depot Rezoning Proposal. 

The Department publicly exhibited the proposal for 28 days from 5 November 2025 to 3 December 2025 and received 276 submissions. The feedback received during exhibition informed the finalisation of the proposal.  

The finalised proposal rezones the site from industrial to residential and amends the relevant planning controls in the Kiama Local Environmental Plan 2011 to enable the delivery of:

• approximately 380 new homes, with minimum of 10% dedicated to affordable housing
• up to 6 storey (22m) buildings.  

The amendments now align with the Low to Mid-Rise Housing Policy.
