Planning proposals
Planning proposal to address issues relating to the finalisation of Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan 2015.
Sutherland Shire
The intention of the planning proposal is to address issues that relate to the making of Sutherland Shire LEP 2015 (SSLEP 2015). The issues were either deferred by Council during the making of the LEP to a separate planning proposal, or were raised as requests during the exhibition of the LEP and deferred to a separate planning proposal, or have arisen since the LEP came into force. The issues include: rezoning and changes to the development controls for precincts (Gymea Bay) and individual sites in Sutherland, Engadine, Heathcote and across the LGA (existing small shops) for residential, commercial, seniors housing and childcare purposes; rezoning and changes to the development controls of Crown land (Sydney Water and school sites across the LGA); rezoning and changes to the development controls of Council-owned land in Kareela and Jannali for alternate community purposes; incorporation of deferred land in Sutherland; making bus shelter signage permissible as exempt development; clarification of controls for dual occupancies; translation of minimum lot sizes for industrial land from the draft DCP to the LEP and changes to the minimum lot sizes for industrial land in Kurnell; and implementation of the recommendations of Council's Heritage Review.
