The proposal contains the following amendments: Reclassification of 3 sites from community to operational land Rezoning of 2 sites Amendment to three definitions Amendment to 2 Clauses in the LEP Various minor amendments to Schedule 6 - Heritage Map series amendmentsThe reclassification of part of 1 Mawarra Avenue, Miranda will allow Council to dispose of the subject land which is currently used for a dwelling. The subject land is proposed to be rezoned for residential purposes under Amendment No 6. The remaining portion of the site will remain classified as "community land". This land can be accessed from 10 Biagar Avenue, Miranda. The reclassification of 39R President Avenue, 340R & 348R Kingsway, Carringbah site has been proposed to better reflect the existing use of land as a car park. The 22 Churchill Avenue Site is small (approximately 288sqm) and Council has indicated it is surplus to its needs and its sale would allow consolidation with adjoining residential properties. Two sites, one of which consists of multiple lots, are proposed to be rezoned. One site is currently used for housing and is zoned Zone 13 - Public Open Space to be rezoned to Zone 2 - Environmental Housing (Scenic Quality). This site is privately owned and the rezoning will bring the whole lot into a single zoning. Council has previously acquired the land it requires for open space purposes in the vicinity of this site. The other site consists of land that is surplus to road reserves along Old Illawarra Road. This site will be rezoned for residential purposes. Minor amendments to definitions for "residential development", "home occupation" and "internal lot" are proposed. It is proposed to remove twelve lots from the heritage schedule because of subdivision and make other minor amendments. It is also proposed to add one new heritage item. A series of amendments to several mapping series have also been proposed but it is recommended in this report that this component of the proposal does not proceed.
