Glenfield West

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (the Department) exhibited the Glenfield West Rezoning Proposal (the proposal) from 13 May 2026 to 11 June 2026.  

We are considering the submissions received during exhibition to inform the finalisation of the rezoning proposal. The proposal is expected to be finalised in 2026.

The proposal aims to amend the Campbelltown Local Environmental Plan 2015 to enable: 

• an increase of approximately 1,200 new homes 
• an increase in affordable housing from 5% to 10% 
• taller buildings near the Glenfield Train Station to create a new town centre 
• improved access to services, facilities and open space 
• a new neighbourhood centre on the western side of the precinct as well as more restaurants and cafes 
• improved public transport connections and walking and cycling pathways 
• well-designed homes and streets with trees and greenery to promote urban cooling.   

Landcom is the applicant for this proposal, and the Department is responsible for exhibiting the proposal, gathering feedback and assessing the final plans.
