Kurnell Peninsula

Proposal: The proposal seeks to deliver a mixed-use development with 4,300 new homes on 210ha of land at Kurnell Peninsula, 6km east of Cronulla CBD.

Over 116ha, which is more than 50% of the site, will be dedicated as open space including 2km of beach front, 3 district parks, and 9 local parks.

The proposal includes 7,000sqm of commercial and retail space, tourism accommodation, community facilities, walking tracks and a surf lifesaving club.

Building heights in the proposal range from 3.5 metres to 44 metres (12 storeys).

The exhibition documents include an Explanation of Intended Effect detailing the proposed legislative amendments required to enable the rezoning, a draft master plan, and technical studies.

The proposal was on public feedback between 10 April and 11 May 2026.  We are considering submissions received during exhibition to inform the finalisation of the proposal, and we will prepare a finalisation report.  It is expected to be finalised in 2026.
