Short-term Rental Accommodation

The purpose of this Planning Proposal is to introduce new provisions into Byron Local Environmental Plan 2014 (LEP 2014) to define short-term rental accommodation (STRA) and to improve the management of STRA in the Byron Shire. 

Two categories of STRA will be defined: 

• Hosted STRA – where there is a ‘host’ residing in the dwelling during the period of accommodation. 
• Non-hosted STRA – where there is no ‘host’ residing in the dwelling during the period of accommodation.
