This runoff from this project will feed into 4 stock water dams on our property, which then flows into the Bell River. There is a potential for water contamination for livestock produced on ‘Peppertree’ property which is directly adjacent and lower typographically to the BESS. This threat is also existent for the Bell River.
This project is also located on the acquirer from which we source stock and domestic water during dry periods when our dams dry up. Any deep digging to establish foundations could disrupt this acquifier which has been supplying water since Cobb and Co coach days.
24/7 running of the project means constant noise associated with this project. This constant noise will affect an existing medical condition which could be life threatening.
The entrance to the project is located just over a blind crest in the road coming from a southerly direction which potentially could cause a road accident.
This BESS is located in a pristine agricultural part of Wellington which has no other solar or wind farm infrastructure, hence its negative aesthetic impact will be enhanced. It is also located more than 10 km from existing solar farms making it less effective.
This project is located in proximity to the Wellington Caves; the extent of which has not yet been established so could be over cave cavities.
The runoff water from the dam located in close proximity to the east of the project will impact the project during periods of heavy downpour. Any diversion works to protect the BESS would be diverted through our property, potentially causing severe erosion.
Photos attached show the extent of potential runoff water during a period of heavy rainfall.
