these are UGLY. We don't want wind turbines in rural NSW. We don't want these destroying our lifestyle, businesses, communities and way of life. Get rid of them. Go back to better planning and find a more suitable place NOT in rural NSW. Our children and grandchildren, and future generations should not be lumped with the burden of our government's bad decision making, nor should they be lumped with the complacency of those unable to stand up and say NO to these. We need to protect our landscapes because that is what makes rural NSW unique and a desirable place to live. We need to protect the koalas that will be impacted due to the Burrendong Wind Farm - these are a protected species. Ark Energy need to do better and find a location closer to the cities.

I vehemently oppose the establishment of the Burrendong Wind Farm for several compelling reasons that directly impact the local residents, their properties, visitors, and the surrounding environment. When considering the details of the proposal provided by Ark Energy, I find it imperative to structure my objection in alignment with their specific plan for optimal clarity.

The World’s End Ridgeline stands as a high-quality scenic feature that holds immense value. Regrettably, the proposed wind farm threatens the destruction of this invaluable landscape, jeopardizing not only its aesthetic appeal but also the overall quality of life for local residents, their properties, and visitors.

The expansive views from various vantage points on the land, which contribute significantly to the property's appeal, will be irreversibly marred. Given that the properties are designated as lifestyle properties rather than traditional farming ventures, the entire essence and purpose of living in this idyllic environment will be obliterated.

The intrusion of industrial wind turbines, will servery compromise the peaceful, natural landscape, serenity, and fresh air that characterize lifestyle this off grid location and hugely impacted by the towering structures and the associated noise and visual disruption.

Moreover, the value of the land will be significantly diminished. The adverse effects of the wind farm on the landscape will not only impact the local resident daily lives but also dissuade the many visitors who come to stay, drawn by the pristine surroundings that will be lost if this proposal is allowed to proceed. The installation of the wind turbines will undoubtedly introduce light pollution.

Additionally, the absence of phone reception and electromagnetic fields (EMF) has been a deliberate and cherished aspect of local residents, who have made a choice for this off-grid lifestyle. The introduction of turbines will disrupt this EMF-free environment.

In summary, the proposition for the Burrendong Wind Farm not only poses a threat to the natural landscape but also jeopardizes the very essence of the lifestyle chosen by the local residents. The potential destruction of the World’s End Ridgeline, the degradation of expansive views, and the introduction of industrial elements all undermine the sanctity of our homes and disrupt the tranquility we have carefully nurtured in this distinct and beloved environment.

I OBJECT TO THE BURRENDONG WIND FARM PROJECT. Concerns are:
- increase of public liability insurance on local residents, farms and businesses.
- increased risk of fires due to not being able to airbomb with water. how will this impact the local residents in the case of a bushfire?
- air pest control - how will this work with turbine structures?
- Locust management - Australian Plague Locust Commission will not be able to operate near infrastructure
- increased traffic on school bus routes.
- this project will destroy the local koala habitat.

I hereby declare that I STRONGLY OBJECT to the Burrendong Wind Farm - Submission - (SUB-65729211). Object to the proposal as follows:

My concerns is the deceptive and misleading conduct of Ark Energy in relation to their Burrendong Wind Farm proposal and provision of photomontages.

Impacted landowners did not receive photomontages from Ark Energy, prior to the public exhibition of the Burrendong Wind Farm Proposal.

This life-changing proposal has already contributed to over two years of devastating mental health/street implication for our community.

It is apparent that Ark Energy does not to provide photomontages from all dwellings, especially from those in Worlds End, as some dwellings are located within 1 to 2.5km of Ark Energy’s 250m high turbines that are proposed along the top of the Worlds End Ridgeline, towering approximately 3/4km into the air above the relative level of some dwellings located in the Worlds End valley below. Obviously visual impact will be horrific.

Ark Energy has also refused to provide Burrendong SOS members with a site map that numbers turbines corresponding to the numbering of turbines on photomontages provided.

This means we have no way of interpreting the photomontages to determine the distance and location of turbines that are visible from our dwellings.

Ark Energy is not meeting the requirements of the NSW Government’s Undertaking Engagement Guidelines for State Significant Projects, we are denied provision of such basic information.

I object to these renewable projects. There are so many toxic materials in batteries, often mined in poor countries by little children. Toxic materials are also found in wind turbines and solar panels which is so bad for the environment. I have seen reports of wind turbines and solar panels being dumped in landfill when they are past their use by date which is incredibly harmful to the environment and will leave that land useless for many years to come. No, No, No - Stop them now!

I object to the Burrendong Wind Farm (SUB-65755208) as there are several major issues throughout the EIS.
One of which is the fact that the road route planned uses a road not in crown road, but in a different spot to what is legally shown. As the Department require transport route to be on legal roads, the entire current route is illegal and not allowable. The relocation of the road will intrude into personal landowners properties and the required construction of the road in that case will infringe on private land and cause biosecurity dangers.
There has been no consent form local landowners to access private lands for the road upgrade or any other reason therefore the entire EIS is built upon a Wishlist plan which is unrealistic at this stage and unapproved on every level by the local landowners.
Ark have also openly and forcibly misled, belittled and ignored requests from landowners and have told them that they will compulsory acquired, despite the Council stating that there will be no compulsory acquisition and that the company itself doses not have the power to do so. This has been the case in regards to the roads, land and visual assessments.
There was no mention of decommissioning and how that will be funded which is a very important detail to mention to allow fair consideration of the project and allow the local landowners to know the true impact of the project and its long lasting effects.
They also ignored the local koala populations, along with the local flora and fauna, and did not complete any targeted surveys or investigations in accordance with threatened species guidelines, and straight up did not survey several areas.

I Strongly Oject to the Burrandong wind farm.
We have been at 167 yarrabin road and the area our entire life, Why are we letting multi national companys take advantage of us and destroy our communitys our familys and our homes only becauce it is convenent for them to put the electricily back into the high power grid that is close and it is cheaper for them.
This is going to kill all of our wildlife and destroy our water catchment which is used for Australians not for a multi national company. Over the last years our familys have been fighting this and it has put so much strain on our familys that we dont need. This land is for our generations of children to use and the hundreds of people that still use this land today for its serenity, when we have these wind turbines towering over us it will destroy the place.
I hope the submitions get looked at and dont get brushed under the mat like most things do.

My grave concerns for the introduction of a windfarm in such a unique bushland, range from the aesthetic to the environmental. Having frequented that area for years, I've taken my children camping, bush-walking, and hunting on private properties. They, in turn, are looking forward to experiencing the same joy with THEIR children in the not-too-distant future.
It would be heartbreakingly criminal to see such a beautiful ridge-line destroyed by spinning windmills that are not renewable themselves.
Asides from this, the destruction of almost 600 hectares of bush, inhabited by Koala's and birdlife, including the Wedge Tailed Eagle and the Glossy Red Tailed Black Cockatoo, cannot be justified for the construction of infrastructure that will only work when the wind blows, and that require electricity to actually start themselves up! They also will also be emitting humming sounds and emitting EMF.
The residents moved to this area for seclusion, not construction.
I urge your department to cancel this project at the first opportunity.

Re: Burrendong Wind Farm
I wish to register my protest at the above proposed development.
Our 43-hectare property is on a hill to the east of the development, fronting the Meroo River and overlooking the Worlds End ridgeline and valley.
We purchased it in September 2001, and were profoundly influenced in that decision by the glorious 270-degree views from the small cabin perched on a hilltop. It is breathtakingly beautiful, particularly at sunrise and sunset; a couple of other dwellings are visible in the distance, but otherwise there is nothing manmade in sight. It is pristine.
We therefore regard with horror Ark Energy’s plan to locate 14 of 70-odd wind turbines along the Worlds End ridgeline. What sort of bloody-minded perverseness would position these 250m monsters in the middle of an idyllic setting that is valued so much by us and our neighbours, when there are thousands of hectares of mostly uninhabited wilderness stretching to the west, towards Lake Burrendong?
Then, to add insult to considerable injury, the proponent has 1) decided that the adverse visual effect on our property would be only ‘moderate’, and 2) proposed, in ’mitigation’, that trees be planted next to our house to screen out the visible wind turbines.
The effect on our property is not ‘moderate’ – it is severe.
As to ‘mitigation’, the dictionary definition of mitigate is 1) make (something bad) less severe, serious, or painful. 2) (mitigating) (of a fact or circumstance) lessening the gravity or culpability of an action.
Ark Energy is vandalising the views we love, and their solution is planting trees to block out those very views! This almost laughable ‘mitigation’ does not remotely ‘lessen the gravity or culpability’ of their proposed action. It makes it worse.

I have not touched on the other wind farm, Piambong, proposed to our north. Piambong’s turbines look set to be closer and more visible even than those of Burrendong. Was not Ark Energy obliged to consider the cumulative effect of this development before lodging their application?
Then there are the anticipated adverse effects on the environment and wildlife of the Burrendong development, the increased traffic along Yarrabin Road, the lowering of property values, and more.

Please, could Burrendong’s wind turbines be moved further west, out of sight? We must not allow this vast power station, this rampant industrial overdevelopment, to destroy something that many of us hold very dear.
I extend a formal invitation to the DPE to visit our property and verify the above.

To who it may concern
I have been going to Worlds End and staying at different properties helping owners maintaining their properties for some many of years. In return i get to see the vast wildlife in the valley and on the mountain tops as a bird watcher i see many of different Eagles and their youngs and a vast array of Red Tail Black cockatoo of witch is native to Australia. With the proposal of the the 10 turbines right on the Ridge of the world's end valley Ridge line i do oppose as it will endanger there homes and existence as a lot of species like to return to breed.
