I would like to support this application for the following reasons:
Having an experienced aquaculture company like Huon expand in this region will provide additional skills and benefits to other existing businesses in this region.
I feel that moving the site further offshore and increasing the area will help further minimise any possible environmental impacts.
There will be additional employment opportunities.
New South Wales Aquaculture lags behind other Australian states and needs more aquaculture companies to invest in NSW to secure the availability of fish into the future.

As a land based finfish farmer and as industry representative of land based farmers on the Aquaculture research and Advisory Committee, I full support the modification of the development application for marine finfish research and commercial aquaculture in floating sea cages on all 5 criteria.

I am writing to voice my support for the proposed modifications to improve the potential productivity of two finfish leases in Providence Bay, NSW.

The NSW aquaculture industry has historically been dominated by oyster production. Diversification of this vibrant agricultural sector to include commercial farming of alternative species will augment the economic and social benefits of aquaculture to NSW coastal communities.

I am confident that under the supervision of competent NSW DPI and Huon Aquculture staff, the proposed developments will be managed to minimise any threat to the natural ecosystem whilst significantly improving the scope of this exciting commercial initiative.
