Thank you for the extension of time given by phone last week.

With the information that I have had available I raise no objection to the proposed modification.

I note that when a dog trailer is in use on a heavy truck that the path of dog trailer follows a tighter radius when the towing vehicle is negotiating a bend in the road, or the quarry entrance from the Jacky Bulbin Road.
I consider that a reduced percentage of truck movements with a dog trailer attached might well improve safety on the Jacky Bulbin Road.

I visited my property on 5 August and was pleased to notice that work has commenced to widen the Jacky Bulbin Road adjacent to the quarry entrance. I am not aware of whether this work is being done by the local Council or by the quarry operator under licence. I trust that work will include some system for preventing truck operators 'cutting' the corner when turning into the quarry entrance. For example a turning lane with a short median strip might be ideal.

I noticed also that whilst not all of the accumulated dust on the northern side of the roadway has yet been removed, that some dust is gone and reveals that the underlying road surface has become undulating and potholed for several feet in from the edge of the bitumen. I trust that also will be repaired.

Finally, I am pleased to inform you that since October 2016 Mr Newman has been regularly notifying me of the dates and times of scheduled blasting by SMS text message, with plenty of advance warning. This is very welcome.
