Dear Ms Flanagan
I refer to your email of 17 August 2017 providing notification of Sydney Water's application to modify the Ministerial approval for the Gerringong Gerroa Sewage Scheme in the Kiama local government area.
The EPA has reviewed the application. The EPA notes that Sydney Water is seeking for the discharge limits set under the Conditions of Approval to be superseded by those in its environment protection licence (EPL) issued by the EPA. The concentration limits in the EPL are largely similar to those as outlined in the original consent. DPE should be aware that there is a difference for suspended solids where the consent limit is currently set at <1 mg/l whereas the EPL prescribes a limit of 3mg/l.
Based on the information provided, the EPA has no objection to the modification of the consent.
Please call me if you have any questions or concerns.
