We are very disappointed that the Threatened Species corridor (condition C11) is being removed from the consent conditions for this development. Whilst it may not be seen as perfect conditions for the yellow bellied glider, the area is currently a refuge for a large variety of native fauna and therefore, a wildlife corridor is essential in this location.
We are aware that there are currently limited linkages to other wildlife corridors, but feel that if we don't start making the allowances for native wildlife and vegetation now, there will soon come a time when there will be nothing left to try and save.
Overall, we feel that the inclusion of a wildlife corridor in the proposed location is essential as it will not substantially limit the developers potential for the site, will leave an area for refuge for our native fauna, and increase the amenity of the area.
