I do not think that agricultural land should be used to generate electricity.
I do not think that native animal habitat should be cleared for the generation of electricity.

No one should be allowed to destroy our environment to build privately owned, for profit, wind farms.
Put them in Sydney Harbour, or on the beaches of cliffs near where the people who want wind and solar have to live near them.

Wind turbines are a blight on the landscape, with the Hay Plains as the flattest area in the Southern Hemisphere. If turbines are allowed to be erected it will ruin an incredibly unique area of the world.

As a lifetime grazier in the district of Hay of which 3 generations of my family have or hold properties, I believe this to be the biggest assault on our land to date! Our land is of the very best food producing soils in Australia and to reduce it to contaminated waste is a slap in the face to our veterans. Until there is a bond provided for the decommissioning of the sites, we cannot trust that the lands will be returned to their former pristine condition for the purpose of food production. For this reason I do not support wind or solar.

The construction of this project will destroy native wildlife and their habitat.
The once scenic views will be obliterated by these ugly structures and their continued maintenance.
How are the turbines and battery energy storage systems recycled at their lifespan.
Will they be buried on site ?
What is the plan ? or is the region going to become a toxic rubbish dump.

Please stop this destruction of the environment and endangered plant and animal species.
The beauty of this district will soon be blighted by the visual impacts of these ugly monstrosities and the destruction involved to create them.

I am writing to express my strong endorsement of the Pottinger Energy Park wind farm. As someone committed to environmental conservation, I am thrilled by the project's potential to significantly reduce our carbon footprint by approximately 2.8 million tonnes annually. This initiative not only represents a major step forward in clean energy but also aligns perfectly with our goals for a sustainable future. I also think that the wind farm will have less long term environmental effects than nuclear energy and there will be no toxic waste components to deal with.

My objection is due to the reckless attitude to the environment by this project.
Critically endangered species such as the Plains Wanderer will be wiped out if this project is approved.
The greed for money is blinding government and investors to the impact that these ugly monstrosities will have on our native environment.

Hello, I am a staunch supporter of the Pottinger Wind Farm, especially impressed by how the involved landholders have managed their farms with a strong environmental consciousness. I understand the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process, which typically spans over 24 months, aims to assess the impact on local biodiversity thoroughly. From what I've seen, the EIS for the Pottinger project has been conducted with precision and care. I want to especially commend the landholders for their proactive efforts over many years to identify and protect environmentally valuable areas, which have been completely excluded from the development's footprint. This thoughtful consideration demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding the land and community interests.

I am writing to express my strong support for the Pottinger Wind Farm project, a significant and commendable initiative within the South-West Renewable Energy Zone (SW-REZ).

Firstly, it is worth noting that the Pottinger Wind Farm stands out as one of the few Australian-owned projects in the SW-REZ. This ownership structure ensures that the economic benefits and decision-making processes remain within our country, bolstering national interests and supporting local industry capabilities.

Moreover, the project’s partnership with local Australian farming families to host the wind farm exemplifies a commendable model of collaboration. By working directly with these families, the Pottinger Wind Farm not only provides them with additional revenue streams but also integrates renewable energy infrastructure seamlessly into the agricultural landscape.

The Pottinger Wind Farm has also established a strong social license within the community. This project has engaged with local stakeholders transparently and respectfully, addressing concerns and incorporating feedback. This community-centric approach has fostered a positive and supportive relationship with residents, ensuring that the wind farm is viewed as a valued member of the community.

Furthermore, the benefits of the Pottinger Wind Farm extend beyond renewable energy production. It plays a crucial role in supporting regional communities by creating local jobs, stimulating economic growth, and contributing to regional development initiatives. These benefits help to enhance the resilience and sustainability of our rural areas.

In summary, the Pottinger Wind Farm is an exemplary project that not only contributes to our renewable energy targets but also strengthens local communities and supports Australian ownership. I strongly urge you to consider the positive impacts of this project and to support its continued development.

Kind regards,
Natalie.

I object to this project as it will have detrimental effects on the local environment.
This are consists of lakes, creeks and native endangered flora and fauna.
An example of this is the critically endangered Plains Wanderer.
The native habitat is being wiped out in the district without any thought for the future of native wildlife and plants.

This project is destroying the environment.
Lakes, creeks and wetland ecosystems all occur on the site.
The critically endangered Plains Wanderer and other endangered plants and animals will soon be wiped out if these projects continue to destroy their habitat.

I object to the Pottinger Wind Electricity Generating Works. The Hay Plains are synonymous with undisturbed views of the horizon. This area is high in agricultural farming and livestock droving. The immediate environmental impacts of implementation and construction of the turbines as well as the ongoing impacts year on year will be devastating for the area. Therefore, I do not wish for the 247 turbines to be constructed in the proposed area, or any area within the surrounds of the Hay Plains.

I fully support wind farms as part of Australia's transition to renewable energy. These provide a reliable back-up when solar energy may not be so readily generated, for example at night, during storms. I have had my own wind generator since the early 1990s. Also there is a wind farm near me at Carcoar and this has never caused any problems to graziers in the local area that I know of.
This project is backed by an Australian-owned consortium who has done significant community liaison work. It will greatly enhance the local area as well as providing much needed additional income to the farming families who are hosting the project.

As a grantparent in our community, I am in favour of the Pottinger Energy Park wind farm. The future of my grandchildren is my top priority, and I believe this project contributes to creating a healthier, more sustainable environment for them to grow up in. Additionally, the job opportunities and community programs will provide them with a better quality of life right here at home.

We must move away from fossil fuel sources, we must move towards renewable energy sources for our future. Wind Farm Proponents are required by the Department of Planning to make sure all inherent risks and impacts are considered and mitigated. Thus we can have confidence that the project has been vigorously developed and designed. No longer is it is enough to develop a wind farm purely for yield and return - social, cultural and environmental impacts are all highly considered. Knowing the Proponents (Someva and AGL) we can be sure this project has been rigorously designed to bring the least harm to the community, and will bring us closer to Net Zero faster, which is the entire point. Highly support this project.
