To Whom It May Concern,

Having researched the proposed wind farm projects in the SW REZ it is clear that the Pottinger Wind Farm is the best suited project to go ahead. The Pottinger Windfarm is located on generational family owned properties and linked to a 100% owned Australian company in AGL this is a huge benefit for the people of NSW and Australia. The Pottinger Project is on properties that have excluded highly environmentally sensitive areas for the Plains Wanderer and lakes/wetlands for endangered native spices of frogs. Which I feel is the right place for renewable energy to be invested. These properties have already invested in doing the right thing for nature and the environment.

Also the Pottinger Wind farm has a minimal visual impact for tourists and visitors driving in the Hay Plains area. It is well set back from the Cobb Hwy(The Long Paddock) and maintains the picturesc nature of the Hay Plains.

Kind regards,

Hi,
I am in support of the Pottinger Wind Farm. Having lived and worked in the region all my life I feel the community and the region can benefit substantially from Renewables. I attended the signing ceremony for the Pottinger wind farm at Booroorban on the 11th April 2024, I was very impressed by the thorough communication and support Pottinger had conducted with the local Councils and all interested parties.
I have learnt that not all the projects proposed in the area will be constructed, Considering this I would like to particularly endorse the Pottinger project due to the setback of more then 10km from the tourist route. I am concerned about other proposed farms turbines in direct view along the Cobb Highway Tourist Route, this routes is the icon of the region and the view of the endless Plains around Hay needs to be maintained. A simple google of any tourist information in the region will reveal the importance of the view of the endless Plains and how important it is to maintain the setback of Wind Turbines which the Pottinger Wind Farm Delivers.
I've attached a photo which was recently posted on the Hay Tourism Social Media page taken on the Cobb Highway and got 100's of replies, the common theme was the endless Plains. Some of the replies where, "Nothing comes close to the Hay Plains", "There is nowhere in the world like the Hay Plains", "Long endless horizons orange haze makes for endless days, follow the sun it leads to Hay".
Thank you

The Planner.
I’m concerned about a this renewable energy generating installation.
Many are being proposed on productive Agricultural land.
We need to protect the food producing land in Australia to grow food.
This junk in a crime.

Dear Planning Officials,
I am writing to highlight the significant infrastructure concerns associated with the proposed turbine development. The construction of these turbines would necessitate extensive road building and other supporting infrastructure in previously untouched areas. This would not only lead to habitat destruction but also increase the risk of soil erosion, water contamination and fire.
The impact on our local infrastructure would be immense, and the long-term maintenance costs could burden our community. Please consider these serious infrastructure concerns and oppose the development plan.
Sincerely,
Gary Hare

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to strongly oppose the turbine development on behalf of our community’s well-being. Our area is built on a sense of peace, unity, and a deep connection to our natural surroundings. The introduction of industrial scale turbines would not only disrupt the physical landscape but also the social fabric of our community.
The stress and division caused by such a large-scale development would be detrimental to our quality of life. We cherish our tranquility and natural beauty, and I urge you to protect our community by rejecting this proposal.

Yours faithfully,
Pamela Oneill

Dear Planning Committee,
As an artist who draws inspiration from the stunning natural beauty of nature, I am horrified by the prospect a turbines marring our landscape. The visual impact of these structures would be devastating, not only to the aesthetic value of our community but also to our local tourism industry, which relies on unspoiled scenery , piece and quite.
The sight of these large scale industrial turbines would destroy the serene and picturesque environment that defines this area . Please consider the long-term visual and economic consequences of this project and reject the development plan.
Best regards,
Tegan Hare

I’m worried about lot of turbines and their noise.
What happens when they are damaged. Who is going to be responsible for the when they brack.
Turbine don’t have any electricity when there is no wind.
This is s not a good idea.

Thanks

As a young person I very worried about the impact this turbine installation will have when it is time to decommission.
I have read about bisphenol A from leading edge erosion being flung by the turning blade or wind and being washed into water ways and possibly enter our food chain.
No - one making the decision today will be alive in 2050 to clean it up.
I have been read about nuclear power generation and I think this is the way to achieve net Zero. Nuclear can occupy the same area as coal and use existing wires.
The young people of Australia need Nuclear.
Please consider the permanent effect of BPA which was banned in Australia in 2012

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to oppose the proposed turbines due to its potential impact on property values. Numerous studies have shown that the presence of large-scale turbines can lead to a significant decrease in nearby property values due to visual and other environmental concerns, this is deeply troubling. The financial implications for properties could be severe, reducing the value of our investments and negatively impacting the local agricultural real estate market. I urge you to take this into account and reject the development plan.

sincerely

Dear Planning Committee,

I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed Pottinger wind project from an economic perspective. The long-term economic viability of this installation has been called into question due to issues such as variable storage ability and maintenance costs.
Still days can render these turbines ineffective leading to significant periods of low energy generation.
Investing in such an uncertain venture could divert funds from more reliable and sustainable energy projects. I urge you to reconsider the economic rationale behind this development and to explore more viable alternatives.
For example nuclear energy generation.

Nerissa Nicholson

This area forms part of a unique ecosystem that is on one of the largest flat landscapes in the world.
It is intersected by some of the most important wetlands and streams in south East Australia.
The scale of the project (almist 65000 acres) is such that the area will be visually destroyed due to it's low elevation of change, particularly if aviation lights are deployed.
The effects on the local biome will be catastrophic.

I am writing to express my support for wind farms, particularly in the Riverina area, which I believe is a suitable location for its accessibility and low population density. However, it's crucial that the scenic view from the Cobb Highway across the Hay Plains is preserved. Having examined projects within the SW REZ and noted the oversubscribed upcoming tender for access, I am convinced that the Pottinger Project is strategically positioned. Set well back from the Cobb Highway, it ensures the maintenance of the picturesque landscape that the Hay Plains are renowned for. This careful planning demonstrates a thoughtful approach to balancing development with natural beauty. I also believe that the communities of Hay and Deniliquin will benefit from this projects. The Pottinger Project team has communicated with care and concern for our community for an extended period of time to ensure they properly understood the needs of our area, including the needs and values of our local First Nations Community.

I Object to The Pottinger Wind Farm SSD-59235464

My reasons for objecting are as follows:
- Wind turbines are a significant fire risk being a source of fire ignition and also the source of fire spread via blade throw in the event of a structural failure in the blade. Any other machine that suffered from the historical rates of fire as Australian wind turbines in recent times would be immediately withdrawn from the market.

- Cummulative effect of landscape impacts. Australia landscapes are having their natural character and beauty ruined.

- Secret contracts with non-disclosure agreements. Wind turbine development should not continue while corporations are using cynical and exploitive negotiating practices that divide communities with winner and losers. It is unjust that some persons are benefiting at the expense of others.

- All people harmed by the development of this project must be fully and fairly compensated. Without full transparency and independent scrutiny this is simply not possible.

The wide open farming plains of Hay may not appear to be habitat for very much biodiversity, but they are home to a plethoria of protected fauna that have co-existed with farming for generations, a few of which are as follows: The Black Falcon (threateded), Koala (endandered), Australoian Bustard (vulnerable), Little Eagle (vulnerable), Pink Tailed Lizard (vulnerable), and numerous other species.
Not only are the plains habitat to much biodiversity, they provide a reliable supply of quality food to Australia's population, and should not be sacrificed to unreliable wind and solar factories.
There is also contamination issues to be considered. Please see attached:

On behalf of Centurion Mining Camps Australia, I propose to support the Pottinger Energy Park.
Other than the benefits of renewable energy including our pathway to net zero by transitioning away from fossil fuels, this project, like others, inject much needed commercial support to the local communities. We are located in regional NSW and we know first-hand how the benefits of a project like this can help the local community, the commercial benefits flow down to nearly every person living in the local community, directly or indirectly. We also support "Buy Local" to help maintain the growth of local communities.
