The project will allow operations to make improvements to the Rix's Creek North (RCN) Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP) as well as incorporate solid bowl centrifuges in the CHPP to reduce future reliance on tailings dams.

The changes proposed under the Rix's Creek North -Modification 10 will provide ongoing employment of many locals in the Singleton and wider Hunter Valley with the upgrading of the CHPP, workshop and electrical facilities whilst having only a minimal environmental impact outside of the current mining operations. As a resident who lives within 5km of the mine, I can see that this proposal will not have any detrimental effect on the local community and will allow those employed at the site to maintain a sense of job security moving forward.
