Rix's Creek North - Mod 10 - Minor Optimisation to CHPP

I am in support of the Rix's creek Mod 10. It would ensure employment for myself, and support my families future in the local area. I have worked for Bloomfield group at Rix's Creek for 8 years, and I am very proud to be working for the only Australian owned and operated mine in the valley, employing approximately 600 local people full time and thousands of contractors directly and indirectly.
This employment has a huge flow on affect in the community supporting local businesses. Rix's creek regularly support local sporting teams and organisations. Also donating to local charities including the Westpac rescue helicopter.
Please approve the Mod 10 for Rix's creek for my future, my families future, for the local area's future.

The environmental assessments conducted for MOD 10 have confirmed that the proposed changes will have a minimal impact on the environment. These modifications will occur entirely within areas previously approved for disturbance. Additionally, mining operations following these infrastructure updates will continue as they are now, with no alterations to the annual production levels.

Modification 10 should be non-controversial. Its inclusions are primarily in relation to upgrading existing aging infrastructure or efficiency improvements. All proposed modifications are within the existing approved footprint of the mine. Rix's Creek Mine has been operating for decades, provides secure employment for hundreds of local people and has an excellent record of care for these people and the broader community.

I have been part of a family that has been supported by the mining industry most of my life. I have parents whose business was supported by mining, a husband whose work is supported by the mining industry, two brothers and myself who directly work in mining, and my son and son-in-law who work in mining-related industries. We need this project to keep jobs and income flowing through the Hunter Valley community and keep our towns alive and thriving.

My family and I support the Rix's Creek North - Modification 10 project as The Bloomfield Group is a massive supporter of the local community both in the Singleton and Maitland areas, along with employing many local residents which gives a positive future to many families and business within the Hunter Shire.

The proposed project modifications outlined in Mod10 seek to make the Rix's Creek project more economically and operationally resilient without material changes to its current environmental impacts. If MOD10 is approved, the Rix's Creek project will provide a more secure workplace that directly supports hundreds of Hunter residents and their families and many more indirectly, while also providing the opportunity for improved environmental outcomes.

The significant aims of this modification are to:
• Deliver operational efficiencies which ensure the business remains competitive into the future and reduce resource consumption,
• Provide a system for tailings dewatering, allowing for in pit disposal and reducing reliance on tailings storage facilities.

The project has been designed to maximise benefits and minimise potential environmental and social impacts and this is evident through:
• construction only in areas previously disturbed,
• minor increases in noise levels that are not discernible to the average listener (through the strategic placement of equipment and installation of sound reduction measures such as cladding of buildings), and
• diligent management of waste to ensure minimal long term environmental impacts.

The approval of this project will result in additional expenditure in the region during construction and allow the Bloomfield team to continue to work safely and productively within the community.
