I am in support of the Rix's creek Mod 10. It would ensure employment for myself, and support my families future in the local area. I have worked for Bloomfield group at Rix's Creek for 8 years, and I am very proud to be working for the only Australian owned and operated mine in the valley, employing approximately 600 local people full time and thousands of contractors directly and indirectly.
This employment has a huge flow on affect in the community supporting local businesses. Rix's creek regularly support local sporting teams and organisations. Also donating to local charities including the Westpac rescue helicopter.
Please approve the Mod 10 for Rix's creek for my future, my families future, for the local area's future.

I support Rix's Creek North - Modification 10.
The environmental assessments conducted for MOD 10 have confirmed that the proposed changes will have a minimal impact on the environment. These modifications will occur entirely within areas previously approved for disturbance. Additionally, mining operations following these infrastructure updates will continue as they are now, with no alterations to the annual production levels.

Modification 10 should be non-controversial. Its inclusions are primarily in relation to upgrading existing aging infrastructure or efficiency improvements. All proposed modifications are within the existing approved footprint of the mine. Rix's Creek Mine has been operating for decades, provides secure employment for hundreds of local people and has an excellent record of care for these people and the broader community.

I have been part of a family that has been supported by the mining industry most of my life. I have parents whose business was supported by mining, a husband whose work is supported by the mining industry, two brothers and myself who directly work in mining, and my son and son-in-law who work in mining-related industries. We need this project to keep jobs and income flowing through the Hunter Valley community and keep our towns alive and thriving.

The proposed project modifications outlined in Mod10 seek to make the Rix's Creek project more economically and operationally resilient without material changes to its current environmental impacts. If MOD10 is approved, the Rix's Creek project will provide a more secure workplace that directly supports hundreds of Hunter residents and their families and many more indirectly, while also providing the opportunity for improved environmental outcomes.

As a proud employee of the Bloomfield Group and an advocate for the positive impact that mining has on our communities and our customers, I am pleased to support Rix’s Creek North - Modification 10 (MOD 10). This proposal includes valuable upgrades such as new processing equipment and tailings dewatering facilities at the CHPP, which will help reduce our reliance on tailings dams. The extension of the workshop, the addition of an in-pit rock crushing facility, and the replacement of the substation with a new switching station are all positive steps for improving our operations. Additionally, the in-pit disposal of heavy vehicle waste tyres and concrete materials reflects our commitment to responsible waste management. These changes will enhance our efficiency and have a positive impact on our employees and the local community. I am confident that these improvements will support our ongoing efforts to maintain high standards and benefit both our team and the community.

I am writing to express my support for the proposed modification to amend the mining plans, submitted by Rix's Creek.
As an employee of the Bloomfield Group, I have seen demonstrated our commitment to responsible mining practices and our dedication to environmental stewardship. The proposed modification aligns with these demonstrated values, aiming to optimise our operations while ensuring minimal environmental impact.
The amendment seeks to enhance some infrastructure changes that exist wholly within previously approved disturbance areas. The modification request does not change our annual production, and environmental assessments have confirmed that the proposed changes will result in minimal environmental impact.
Our company has a proven track record of adhering to regulatory guidelines and implementing best practices in mining operations. The proposed modification reflects our proactive approach to continuous improvement and our commitment to adapting to evolving industry standards.
In conclusion, I believe that approving this modification will not only benefit our operations but also contribute positively to the local economy and environment. I urge the Department of Planning to consider our submission favourably, knowing that it is backed by thorough assessments, expertise, and a genuine desire to uphold the highest standards in mining.
Thank you for considering my input and for your dedication to ensuring responsible development in our community.

I am an employee of the Bloomfield Group and am writing in support of Rix’s Creek North – Modification 10.
The significant aims of this modification are to:
• Deliver operational efficiencies which ensure the business remains competitive into the future and reduce resource consumption,
• Provide a system for tailings dewatering, allowing for in pit disposal and reducing reliance on tailings storage facilities.
The project has been designed to maximise benefits and minimise potential environmental and social impacts and this is evident through:
• construction only in areas previously disturbed,
• minor increases in noise levels that are not discernible to the average listener (through the strategic placement of equipment and installation of sound reduction measures such as cladding of buildings), and
• diligent management of waste to ensure minimal long term environmental impacts.
The approval of this project will result in additional expenditure in the region during construction and allow the Bloomfield team to continue to work safely and productively within the community.

1. Enhanced Operational Efficiency
Upgraded CHPP Facilities: The installation of new processing equipment on the Run of Mine (ROM) stockpile areas and at the Rix's Creek North CHPP will significantly enhance the efficiency of coal handling and preparation processes. This upgrade will streamline operations, reduce downtime, and improve overall productivity.
In-Pit Rock Crushing Facility: Utilizing rock materials onsite through an in-pit rock crushing facility will decrease transportation costs and associated environmental impacts. It will also ensure a steady supply of crushed rock material for ongoing operations.
2. Environmental Benefits
Tailings Dewatering Facilities: By reducing the reliance on tailings dams through the installation of tailings dewatering facilities, the project will minimize potential environmental risks associated with tailings storage. This is a proactive step towards more sustainable waste management practices.
Waste Disposal in-Pit: The disposal of heavy vehicle waste tyres and waste concrete materials in-pit will help in recycling and reusing waste materials, thereby reducing the environmental footprint of the mine.
3. Economic Advantages
Job Creation and Retention: The development and modification of existing facilities will create new job opportunities during the construction phase and maintain existing jobs in the long term. This supports the local economy and provides stability for the workforce.
Cost Savings: The new thickener and other improvements in the CHPP facilities will lead to cost savings in the processing of coal, making the operation more economically viable and competitive in the market.
4. Infrastructure Improvements
New Substation and Switching Station: Replacing the existing substation and installing a new switching station will enhance the reliability and safety of the mine's electrical infrastructure. This ensures a stable power supply, which is crucial for uninterrupted operations.
Workshop Extension: Extending the workshop will provide additional space for maintenance and repair activities, ensuring that machinery and equipment are kept in optimal condition, thus reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
5. Regulatory Compliance and Safety
Administrative Changes: Minor administrative changes can lead to improved regulatory compliance and operational transparency. Ensuring that all modifications meet current regulations and safety standards protects both the workforce and the surrounding community.
6. Sustainable Development
Thickener Installation: The new thickener installation is an essential step towards sustainable water management. It will enable better management of water resources, reducing water consumption and promoting the recycling of water within the processing plant.
