Vickery Mine Extension

VICKORY PROJECT WILL BE VERY GOOD FOR THE AREA ,IT WILL BRING MORE JOBS,
AND HELP OUT THE STRUGGLING BUSINESSES TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING

The proposed expansion will produce HELE coal
Will benefit the local communities
Will benefit all NSW due to royalties paid
Jobs for both construction and on going operation

Will strengthen the local community. Being with whitehaven for 10 years
i hope this moves forward to strengthen my future with whitehaven

I believe that reopening Vickery Mine will be good for employment and
growth in the area.

I support the Vickery Coal project

I am a consultant to the coal mining industry and have in times past been
supplied work by Whitehaven. I hope also work with Whitehaven in
future as part of this project also.

Vickery coal mine would be good for Gunnedah and surrounding communities
. As the drought in this area has has a big impact on job's.like
Baradine only just shut down a saw mill that employs around 20 people
and 3 off them have been able to get work at the WHC boggabri mine .

J&S Engineering is a Hunter Valley Manufacturing company supplying
components to Whitehaven Mines. Our industry relies on mining and
continuing growth to support manufacturing jobs in Australia, NSW and
Rutherford.
We support the continued expansion of responsible mining in NSW.

I support the project. It offers further employment for locals as other
mines close and sustains other local businesses. As well as this it is
taking heavy haulage off local roads.

We believe that the expansion process will benifit the local employment
prospects . Inaddition the flow on to local bussiness community wil
enhance the Gunnadah region .

Vickery Extension project will be great for the greater Gunnedah area.
This mine will provide employment and boost the local economy with
wages going to local people and businesses.

I support the Vickery Extension Project. The extension to the existing
approval will provide significant employment opportunities and
economic value within the region.

Being a large scale primary industry, I believe the direct and indirect
employment opportunities that the project brings to the region are
significant. It adds further justification for equipment manufacturers
and engineering suppliers to locate locally, bolstering the
opportunity for secondary processing and tertiary service type
businesses to enter the region. The project will add to economic
diversity and the social fabric of the local community together with
the economic wealth of the state of NSW.

Vickery means more jobs, more growth and a stronger future for Whitehaven
and North West NSW. We have been supporting Whitehaven for several
years and give our support behind this project that will provide great
prospects to the region.

This will be good for the Gunnedah Area

With the proposed increase in rail movements through Gunnedah, I would
expect the impact tp residents to be considered. Currently there has
been no noise mitigation surrounding the western approach to town. The
current situation where loaded trains are bought to a stop as early as
330 am is having a profound effect on local residents quality of life.
It disrupts sleep , drowns conversation and devalues effected
properties. There has been absolutely no attempt at protecting these
properties from the protracted,invasive noise generated by stopping a
fully loaded coal train. With the increase in rail movements, the
frequency and disruption will only increase. I am disappointed in
Whitehaven's failure to address this problem and sadly envisage no
change in the companies attitude towards the long suffering residents
affected.
