Our company TJ Tools has been supplying Torque, Porta Power, huck and
impact to the hunter Valley Mines since 1993. Our association with
Whitehaven Coal has been a pleasure. They pay on time, always
consistent, and the staff just pleasant & honourable.
They have remained loyal to us and our brands, This off course
directly supports our local staff and our Australian owned company. We
have employed up to 6, full time staff at the peak and apprenticed 2
Mechanical engineers with Whithavens support.
Mines in the Hunter Valley have been through a lot of manager and
ownership changes over the last 25 Years. The culture & workforce is
different now. Targets and profit now seem front and center.
That said, there are still a few who seem unaffected, Whitehaven being
one. Most would consider us unqualified to make company character
assessments, but we get to see and learn lot.
I'm still a big believer in the spots don't change. It's for this
reason I consider Whitehaven to be worthy, reliable and responsible
operator based on the culture we have experienced.
The last 4 years has been a tough time in the Valley. Many have fallen
or left. We fully support the Vickery Extension Project and look
forward to more jobs growth and skills returned to our region.
Thankyou - Trevor Rees ( Director TJ Tools )

make.
I think they should make a valid and strong commitment to health and
the community and proved more facilities to benefit the whole
community.
I think they should make a solid commitment to help the working guys
and their beer consumption.
I think they should also help domestic violence in their workers and
the community and make a community centre for helping their workers
when dealing with domestic breakups and marriage splits.
If they can contribute to these then the community and everything will
be much better off and the Australian economy for having this proposal
accepted.
Today it was announced China was secretly building 100 new coal power
stations so to accept this part of the needed market is great for all.
Solar, wind and nuclear in my opinion are not great for the
environment and create such toxic waste products. Being chemicals used
in solar and the manufacturing of the panels and noise pollution of
wind and nuclear is self explanatory not to mention the extraction and
toxic by products of this type of mining!

resource for us Australian community. Moreover, the amount of local
supports Whitehaven showed in the past and presnt shows a good moral
values. This directly relates to ethics that all mining company should
be following as improving our local communities are one of the most
important factor.
Lastly, along with the moral and ethtical values this new project
creates hundreds of new jobs for local members. It is a significant
moment since, the company is again creating a positive chance for
locals to improve their economy.

jobs and expenditure in the local communities. The project will also
contribute much needed royalties and taxes to our state and federal
budgets.
Further I understand the coal at the Vickery project is of a very high
quality and will be used to help power developing nations at a very
low cost with low corresponding emissions.

Limited. My support for the project is based on:-
1) the positive impact that the project will have on both the local
and NSW economies through the development of a long life world class
project.
2) the high quality of the product to be produced from the proposed
mine. The thermal coal is of a high calorific value and will replace
lower quality, environmentally more damaging coals in the generation
of power.
3) the good track record of Whitehaven in developing and managing
projects that pass high environmental standards. Further, the company
is a strong supporter of the communities that it operates in and seeks
to meet high ethical standards.

conditions affecting the whole town and district, we need growth and
jobs to keep our town prosperous.
Without mining in our area our town would be far worse off than where
we are today. It has "drought proofed" a large amount of businesses in
town, and given employment to farmers who need off farm income.

backbone of NSW providing a huge contribution to the economy in terms
of investment and employment. Without coal, NSW and Australia wouldn't
enjoy the same standards of living.
Vickery is a great project and will provide more investment and jobs
into NW NSW.
Whitehaven has a strong track record and is a suitable steward to
deliver the economic benefits of this great resource to the people of
NSW.

is manufactured using Australian steel components with up to 25 years

supplied buildings to Whitehaven Coal and would welcome the
opportunity to offer quotes to supply any buildings required for the

supporting documentation which underpins this project is comprehensive
and very substantial and in my opinion covers all concerns of
surrounding landholders.
Our communities need projects such as these not only to provide the
energy which drives our economies but also provides the employment
which is so crucial for the sustainability of our rural areas. This
employment is the only security which we have at present in this
devastating drought and in many cases is providing employment for many
young farmers of our district in the mine while allowing them to
continue to farm their properties.
