I Object to this temporary plan as it’s like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound!
I have no faith at all that construction of the proposed Woodlawn Bioreactor Expansion MOD-6 New Leachate Storage Dam will only “have a neutral effect on the Sydney drinking water catchment and a beneficial effect on water quality of receiving waters once constructed (during operation.)”
Whilst claiming it will increase the on-site leachate holding capacity of the WBR and reduce the risk of leachate dams overflowing during extreme rainfall events, this unacceptable disaster is highly likely to continue with overflow of leachate into waterways during significant and sustained rain.

This plan is very risky with shallow groundwater (between 0.5 and 2 metres below ground level across the footprint) constraining the design of the proposed dam.
This plan is also VERY flimsy indeed & DOES NOT account properly for shallow groundwater levels in order to avoid interaction with groundwater - even though deep excavation of ground surfaces will ‘supposedly’ be avoided & maintaining separation to the underground aquifer is claimed, to date this has been a dog’s breakfast - run by incompetent people & engineered fill compacted above natural ground is not a sure or satisfactory solution at all - given the present circumstances.

Nobody can call this ongoing leachate overflowing a “minimal environmental and social impact,” as the Public Health & Safety Risks of impacting Sydney’s Water Catchment are Catastrophic!

At present we have extremely irresponsible & underhanded Approving Bodies in Federal & NSW Government - including the Woke EPA who are failing to do their Due Diligence in adhering to the Principles of Ecological Sustainability & protecting the Australian people.

The Approving bureaucrats don’t care that our life sustaining soil & water is being extensively threatened by Woodlawn’s Bioreactor, Industrialised Solar’s contaminating heavy metals, Wind Turbine Blades shedding microplastics - Bisphenol A & filthy toxic Fire Risk BESS & idiotic CCS plans for the Great Artesian Basin forced on us Against Our Will - with NO Social Licence - by careless developers peddling the Fake Green RenewaBULL Solar/Wind Energy Poverty Grift & Ponzi Scheme/Scam.

The irresponsible, CONtrolling bureaucrats don’t care one bit if our essential Soil & Water is poisoned & Intergenerational Equity destroyed.

The ‘Clean, Green, Sustainable’ Narrative has been trashed by Brazen Lies & Deception from a bureaucracy obsessed by Pathetic Power & RenewaBULL Junk.

Selling Woodlawn Bioreactor as anything other than a TOXIC DUMP is disingenuous!
Sydney deserves no credit for reaching its targets of reducing landfill when they’re just dumping 2 Trains per day - 55 Carriages - on this Woodlawn site near Tarago/Goulburn!

Sydney needs to learn to REDUCE, RE-USE & RECYCLE instead of RUINING THE REGIONS!!

It is essential that this ‘New Leachate Storage Dam’ plan is properly assessed by reputable, independent, peer reviewed experts as the consequences of failure are dire & the Department & EPA cannot be trusted.
They are deliberately & persistently ignoring Engineering Facts, Scientific Rigour, Ethics & Integrity in exchange for Wokeness.

Please see the attached document for dot points on this proposed modification. I object the project in it's current form and Veolia must demonstrate a more significant effort in relation to the local community. Note: Due to the short exhibition period, I have not been able to check the exact dates stated in the document. I am happy to provide the department with more details if required, however the dates of these events are available through the EPA.
